James has built up so much goodwill over the years that he could have several years that are as big of a shitshow as this year's been for him, retire for a few years, and then if he made 2-3 good AVGN videos he'd get a huge amount of views and countless people cheering "AVGN is back!" Personally I think he should just retire now, figure out how to do this whole thing better, and then try a comeback.

I just want to say it boils my blood whether somebody calls anyone the "Mr. Rogers of _____." Mr. Rogers was a genuine person unlike James Rolfe and Boogie. He has done countless of things that neither James nor Boogie would ever do. The big obvious difference between Mr. Rogers and James Rolfe is that Mr. Rogers actually knew how to manage his time something that James should know about considering that time is crucial to filmmaking. And there are more comparisons I should type but I don't have all day. I just wish the next time before anybody ever calls anyone the Mr. Rogers of anything should do their research on Mr. Rogers before making such stupid statements. Just wanted to get that out of my system.

Really? Hah. Never watched that guy at all (and Justin is even more unpleasant to look at) but my idea of him was that he was always a dumb manchild lolcow. But there was a video that people still quote where they talk about "Rolfe avoiding drama cuz he's so wholesome and low profile" and they call him that. I guess his low profile has helped keep the goodwill from being dispelled to the point people say "you can't criticize him, he's a youtube OG and he's wholesome!" when you cringe at his content.

To be fair it sort of hasn't, only because James seems to be looked at with disappointment at worst while people are questioning why he can't put any effort into removing the tumors that are dragging him down with them.
