I do feel a little bad for James. The guy just wanted to try and make movies, but the only thing anyone ever cared about was a dumb meme series where he cursed at old video games. Then when he tried to actually make a movie he fell into the Hollywood trap, went over there where they drained all of his money and probably his soul. On the plus side he never had some kind of mental breakdown and stayed away from internet drama, unlike most other youtubers.
I don't blame him for mostly phoning it in now and coasting off the AVGN brand. It's easy for a lot of us to say something like "I would have quit years ago in order to keep my artistic integrity," but I bet we would all do the same thing and keep those paychecks coming in.

Maybe I am twisted, but I would be happy to take notes for such a project. I enjoy Mike's grindstream a lot when I am engaged in tedious work. I have taken some timestamp notes before, but this has been of little use - My friends don't want to hear about Mike or any other western gaming guy.

James video has a lot of value editing and production value, even the video that aren't that solid are still entertaining and rewatchable. Compare to other YouTuber that are all about streaming, v-logs, politics, and drama which gets boring, lazy, and become forgotten in a few years. Yet, AVGN you can go back and rewatch it and still be entertain.

What in god's balls are you talking about?

He made a meme series, sure, but it gave him financial independence. Poor baby. The movie he tried to make, it didn't have to be AVGN, was awful. The trap he fell into was of his own making. He didn't have to film in California and spend ungodly amounts of money on unnecessary bullshit.

I wouldn't feel so bad...he's able to do something fitting in his skill range and still be in the occupation he loves. That's the problem with James: He sucks at producing shit. He's a very knowledgeable guy. I've got no doubt he knows every technique and has a wealth of knowledge about film. Yet he lacks raw talent. It shows in every facet of what he does when it comes to filming shit. A guy with his talent would be lucky to be behind a camera or pulling lights in some D-list production. I love his work ethic but them's the facts.

He's an unassuming nerdy looking white guy who can do crazy-ass facial expressions. He looks way more the part than Mike.
