I'd say (and I've been saying this time again) the span of ten years between 2004-14 are the golden age of the Nerd. 2015 was when shit when downhill, as with most things in this world.

I'd argue his content remained decent and watchable even then because he had a higher peak to descend from than most of his contemporaries, but this revelation recolors everything.

And once Screenwave took over (and when the movie was released), things turned into absolute shit. I'd say I've noticed something wrong even beforehand.

He might be an autist who was stuck in special ed for seven years, but he's managed to overcome that and turn out relatively normal. He still has his bizarre quirks of course, but the dude seems well adjusted and is good dad and husband. I mean, compare that to some people featured on this site. What's his biggest crime? Making subpar content? Honestly, I'm happy he was able to grow from being a pants pissing spastic to what he is now.

I was always really bewildered by this line in the HK 97 episode. After having read about his balls on a dick accident, it suddenly makes a lot of sense.

It's so good, I've started thinking how it would become if James AVGN crew actually reviewed it today:
* No curse words because they are bad for the algorithm.
* Video would be 20 minutes long, the first five minutes would be talking about games doing homage to older days, afterwards five minute review with no sequential gameplay being spread on 15 minutes with other skits and references to other games spread between them.
* Absolutely abyssal timing on all the jokes, especially making them way too long.
* Ending will be some terrible action scene of James deleting the game off Steam.
