I kind of hope the 200th episode is another informative episode. James has basically covered all the major stinkers from the past, certainly any that would warrant taking up the Episode 200 slot. The informative, calm episodes are ironically my favorite episodes. Things like the Pong Consoles episode or the Odyssey one.
There is still so much junk on the C64 that i believe somebody can be successfull in just covering the C64 library, he talked about "Bozos night out", a game me myself mentioned before in the "Games you played nobody know about" (paraphrasing) on Kiwifarms. And the guy who did that has done alot more weird games, like Seaside Special. Powerleveling here, but me myself has often thought about doing a AVGN kind of show just about C64... He mentioned Sex games, but there is also Party Girls and a bunch of other "porn games" for example.

The C64 stuff has been fun, it just doesn't feel like a big enough deal for the big 200.

Yeah i think he is done with C64... just that there is so effing much weird games, i've been mentioning PC engine as a madman, but there is also Spectrum (Did you know there is a Benny Hill game on there?).

But without Mike i think we wont find anything really obscure, perhaps some game mentioned in a article from Cracked.com or something. The magic of learning something, atleast for us autisticly fascinated by old games, is gone.

Is there a date when 200 is even supposed to come out?
EDIT: Just found out it's going to be in three parts.

Crazy thought, but what if it's some bullshit like all 670+ games in the NA NES library, minus the ones he's already done?
So it has to be either a console or some long running franchise. Probably a console.

There's a few he hasn't done like Heroes of the Lance, a licensed D&D game on NES which was notorious back in the day for its difficulty and weird shit like blue midgets kicking you in the shins until you die. IIRC Seanbaby did a review on his website back in the early days of the internet. I've always thought there'd be plenty of material for an AVGN review.

Youtube algorithm and monetization means he can't/won't do a "Commodore Porn" episode as a sequel to Atari Porn which sucks since the Atari Porn episode is fucking bizarre on so many levels. Like I knew there was a sizable genre of it and not just Custers Revenge but it was always surreal seeing the games in action and have AVGN's commentary on top.

Screenwave already ripped off Seanbaby for an AVGN episode. It was The Legend of Kage. Don't give them any more ideas or impetus to steal material from.

What if he does a retrospective on something a little bit more recent like the PlayStation 2? The console that helped kill Sega's involvement in the console market. It is over 20 years old. It is the best-selling console of all time, and lasted much longer than any previous console did. A milestone episode like the 200th would be a good fit.
Nerd talking about Playstation 2 is like Sherlock Holmes using a smartphone, it's not technically verboten by the rules of the story but feels weird, man.

My latest idea for the 200th ep. is Nerd having the Game Genie as a guest, who has knowledge how to beat every NES game. The episode revisits games from the most popular episodes (Battletoads for example), but with a more positive attitude now that Nerd knows how to play them.

I'm going to play the Devil's advocate on James being unoriginal: last time he tried something new (Vegas stakes) it took a lot of time (har) and effort that could go for making 5 "boring" AVGN episodes, and people's reaction ranged from OK I guess to What was he thinking!?

Yes, the Commodore 64 is a goldmine for bad and weird games. Years and years worth of material.
I would actually love it if he covered the Pac-Man series. Its history is kind of bizarre, as some of the games were Namco games and then Bally-Midway crapped out a bunch of their own games, and it's unclear if they actually had the rights to do that. But it was kind of the wild west back then when it came to video games.

Can you imagine if james was classy and not only brought back mainstays like Mike, Kyle and Bootsy and such, but like as many of the guests as possible like the dude from the pepsiman game, or even made up stuff like shit pickle and what was that- heavy metal death Christ or something? ... IDK, man.

And if he does something like a list of games from just one console, I remember many, many years ago on YT there was a video of nothing but the title screens for NES games put to some really great music. Even though it was a japanese vid, it was really nostalgic.

If they are reading this thread, I wonder if they know there is a sense of people rooting for the pocket protector wearing nerd past all the feelings of sadness and rage he's delivered for a long while (at least I partially am). Maybe that's too subtle for them though.

Could james pull off a classy version of the seinfeld finally? I keep throwing out ideas, but inside I'm dying here.

I just wish he could get a PAL C64 if he does more game reviews for it, half the glitches on his Commodore videos are because of NTSC/PAL incompatibility issues.

I just want 200 to be as much as a spectacle as 100 was for the time. I'm hoping with the heightened production value these days that it'll be some crazy shit.
On that note, I thought episode 100 wasn't great. It would have been better had it been shorter. But I liked the gags where James imitates R.O.B. and when he creates a Gyromite controller with a saw. But the ending is cringe. Especially when he grabs the Mario doll as a weapon.

That's something even I can't figure out. I use the C64 emulator C64 Forever and also The C64 retro console. There are plenty of places to find the old games on the internet, but NOBODY bothers to label if they are the NTSC or PAL versions. I've never seen this before with any other system.

More chance of a re-animated JewWario and Oreo turning up with Santa Christ as they fight critics of the assholeish variety and the 5:40 deadline.

I just stumbled across this:

Justin had maintained contact with Bob who is a convicted pedophile and continued to message him while he was in prison for his crime.

He even sends him memes making light of the fact that HE'S COMMUNICATING WITH A CONVICTED PEDOPHILE.

Jesus Fucking Christ Almighty, why is James still in business with Justin?

I liked how stupidly crazy it got, it felt like a normal AVGN episode for the first while and then turned into something crazy later. I'm a bit of a sucker for the more crazy aspects of some episodes, like the SMB3 one for instance.

Episode 199 is up, it’s the Nerd discussing his favourite moments throughout the series i don’t mind these nostalgia bait videos honestly, reminds me of simpler wand better times in AVGN history compared to the screenwave bullshit/controversy/declining quality Cinemassacre has been experiencing the past 4 years.

The production value has gone down. He's too lazy to move his camera.

Maybe there's a reason James wants to spend so much time with his kids...

Oh goodie, another filler video that he recorded in an hour or so (if that) and Screen Wave cobbled it together in editing in the rest of the afternoon. This 100% should not count as episode 199 and is the laziest thing with the AVGN name branded it that he's done (as of now).
