I'm watching the Six Snix Flix with a group of friends right now. We're having a blast. Also even back then Bimmy was complaining about not having any time, lol.

Edit: As Bames began taking the sequels more and more seriously, the more boring they got.
Same but we just marathoned the entirety of Jimmy Rolfe Versus the Punching Bag (1989), one of my favorite films.

It appears we may not have heard of the end of Rex Viper.

James, if you want to continue to practice, I'm all for it. If you want to play for friends and family, I'm all for it. Even if you want to play for a local event in a small festival, I'm all for it. The thing is, you are not good enough yet to perform for a large audience (unless you play something like punk rock), professional musicians study music for years before they become decent enough for presentations and you are not there yet.

So what happened to AVGN video? We went from a video every 2 weeks to three months without anything.
A few possible options off the top of my head. Either the slobs have given up on trying to push James to make AVGN, and realize it's a lost cause to try and help. James is now showing us what screenwaveless cinemassacre is. That or they are responding to redditors and are slowing down AVGN a ton. James might have requested to do less in general due to muh kids and time. James could have either fired or the slobs left on their own, and now we are seeing James "suffering" without screenwave. I'm betting on this one mostly, but anything is possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if he cut ties with them it was the Monster Madness that primarily caused it. It was the most humiliating fuck up they did and it extremely hurt James' reputation.

If I were James I'd consider putting a more positive spin on AVGN. Start playing and talking about good and/or underrated games. He pulled it off with his Earthbound review whilst still keeping up the AVGN shtick and that was a great video. I know shitty games have been the MO since day one but at this point it could freshen things up a lot, bringing good older games to a larger audience. Its safe to say that a lot of AVGN viewers are to some extent retro game enthusiasts, why not recommend good games for us to try?
I've thought about and recommended the same idea. He'd probably make good videos on the NES/SNES Nintendo games, but wouldn't see him suggesting any games any retro player hasn't heard of/played already.

Look at someone like Stop Skeletons From Fighting. There's a guy who lives and embraces all the fun, emotional and plain dumb about video games with such child-like enthusiasm. It's great, and it's funny how he's been making videos much better than James for awhile when he started off as a "ripoff" (Happy Video Game Nerd).

Then again Derek realized awhile ago that people cared more about his opinions and thoughts and not on the character aspect, and adjusted the channel. And luckily for us and @Pissmaster, no politicalsperging.
5 jokes repeated over and over is way more than James' 1 camera angle and the "take a wild guess" doesn't even get old like James' on screen antics
After his BtS video is when I started veering towards agreeing with TCT. Such a massive display of incompetence, self-victimizing, inability to take criticism, and just being a massive asshole. He can enjoy his time with his kids, and people will enjoy making fun of him/Screenwave, both sides probably win in their own ways.

Some great threads there though every now and then, like that guy picking apart the Majora Mask video. It's just not a "visit everyday" kinda sub, then again that's most subs.

The major problem according to me is his inability to adapt his production problems in any reasonable manner, it's like he is cooked up on benzos or something, "oh i'll put the tripods on the ceiling! Oh, 'll better drill a hole in my CHILDHOOD DESK (How about getting a regular cheap desk?).

The stories of him riding the short bus, hanging around far younger kids in his late teens, makes me suspect he is on the spectrum. This is it, he evolved as far as he can reach. No "My harrer movie!", memoars (Jeez who does that in their 40's?) or "Muh kids made this" - videos can save him from the decline. Here on out he is the Neil Breen of Youtube.

Not to get too off topic but he has sperged a little bit. Most notably defending that community manager who the community hated for Mighty No. 9 when he he made that mini-docu on the subject.

But mostly, like 99% of the time, he's kept it in check. Most of his videos suck now though and are just clickbait.

There's definitely something up with James. I believe he is on the spectrum but what exactly is up is anyone's guess. I have never known a filmmaker who rejects advances in technology like James. Everyone embraces new shit that's out there, especially things that make your job easier. This fucker was still using Final Cut Pro up until Screen Wave took over editing in 2018/2019. Final Cut Pro hasn't been used seriously since 2011. Let that sink in.

I mean, I still use Adobe Premier out of habit but I don't make professional videos and nowadays people use whatever gets the job done but but no one uses Final Cut because it sucks. It's like seeing a professional editor use Windows Movie Maker.

I never actually finished the VHS memories video until a few minutes ago. Despite the flaws and the decline of Cinemassacre, the video did hit me in the feels and made me remember why I like watching James’ videos (most of them anyway)
The VHS video sucks. The corny emotional music bed playing while james talks in a disingenuous reflective tone about old shitty technology. James is too attached to his childhood.
