What year was the jumping shark moment for AVGN for you guys? I personally think It was 2020 with a noticeable decrease in funny episodes and more sketch focused direction, but some people are way harsher and think the series started to tank immediately post Nerd Movie. As one of his biggest defenders I still really enjoy late 2010s AVGN, I think you can see screenwave start to take over the series direction from 2017 onwards but there were still really great episodes. Im one of the few who actually really liked The Amiga CD32 episode, It was a hilariously and bafflingly made bad console and The Town With No name gave us some great comedic reaction from James.

I even quite like The Home Alone, and Gilbert Gottfried episodes, It was just cool to see both Celebs work with the nerd and Gottfried (RIP dude) really worked with teh Nerds Energy. Hell, I even enjoy the 2021 Shrek and Fear and loathing episodes, they were just so ridiculous they had a sort of surreal elaborate energy that has been missing from a lot of the modern eps, they felt too safe and early AVGN. I prefer when James combines classic style with more elaborate surreal scenes, reminds me of the classic Mario 3 and Glicthes episode.

But I do agree that the last truly brilliant episode was Eartbound, It’s definitely felt like a finale of some sort, and it should’ve been the 200th episode or had ended the show there, I can’t think of a more fitting end to the shows legacy than that.
For me the show got extremely shitty right when he started working on the movie, so I'd consider Jekyll and Hyde revisited to be the last great episode.

AVGN was the worst movie I've ever personally seen. I've never seen To Boldly Flee because I never followed Nostalgia Critic, but everything I've heard about it just sounds like cancer.

Movies by YouTubers are their own crock of shit, and might even be worth making a thread over. The best one I've seen is the first Ashens one, and it was just boring and I don't remember anything about it
I still remember when Shane Dawson (who has his own thread on the farms) turned out generic teen coming of age movie called "Not Cool", and somehow roped anime voice actress Cherami Leigh into it. I never saw it, but apparently it went over as well as you'd expect: it was panned by critics and audiences alike, and appears to have fallen into obscurity.

There are a lot of YouTubers who've shot themselves in the foot to follow passion projects that don't actually pan out. I even started a thread on the farms about one such project.

Eh, I dont personally agree, but to each their own, all I can say is that even though you may not believe me but To Boldy Flee would put the AVGN movie to shame. It fails literally in every single aspect of filmmaking and isn’t even ´So bad it’s good’ to stand up on. Since it’s actually a homage to Crappy B movie style films, it evens fails at having any camp value. Trust me watch it and you may change your mind on your personal worst ever film, it’s that cancerous of a flick.

Holy Hell, those responses. I know people living through other people is nothing new, but this is pathetic. This response is my favorite though

What a fucking loser. Imagine having your identity based off of a person reviewing games then crying about it. What a bunch of incels
He mentioned they played a game he worked on, I wonder what it was?

So not only is this faggot's idol not a "true" gamer, but now he's saddened to learn that that same person played a game he worked on...... Jesus fucking Christ. I collect games but I'm no where close to having my game collection be a part of my "identity"

These dumbasses treat game collecting the same way book snobs treat physical books. The book snobs don’t give a fuck about actually reading their books, they just want something to display in a narcissistic attempt to prove to the world how smart and educated they are compared to the e-reader using peons.

Same with the game collectors. It’s just a dick waving contest to prove who is the biggest consoomer in the land rather than actually playing and appreciating the games.

Like retro games and want a sizable collection? Do what I did and for less than $100 make a RetroPie console with tens of thousands of games.

Going through the list, I'd consider Tiger Games to be his last great episode. There are still some good ones after that but I think the decline is very clear and noticeable.

It's summer already and days I feel a lot more aimless when I don't have college for a few months.
College ProTip: Always take summer classes, even if it's just a handful of credits' worth. If you pass all your classes, you'll graduate early. If you end up failing some in later years, it'll help make sure you graduate on time.

Not that I speak from experience or anything.

It might have already been pointed out, but a while back him and Mike are doing something with a 360 dashboard on the screen behind them, and he has no idea what he's looking at.

Same, as that was the entire point of the AVGN "character"; some old man who was still mad at the toys he used to have way back in the day and refusing to let it go. Which made people finding out he wasn't someone who kept playing vidya into adulthood something of an autistic personal slight.
Back in the early days of The Irate Gamer, one of the common criticisms against Bores was that he wasn’t a real gamer and that the cartridges he used for his videos were recent purchases. It wouldn’t shock me that a bunch of people from that autistic slap fight got really caught up on the concept of authenticity when it came to saying Back to the Future was a bad game

That’s even more of a dead topic.
We all know the only cave that matters is the one that gave us the magic word Xyzzy.

The best one I've ever seen is the Spoony movie.

(Quotes seem to be broken)

As someone who doesn't watch J&M Mondays, was "Who's Your Daddy" like really crap or something?

Benzai, if anybody remembers him, made his own unwatchable feature length movie about a French Game Stop clerk. I couldn't push myself into watching even the second act.

Idk, I didn't watch J&MM consistently. It sure sounds crappy and like it matches the user well based on the title alone.

IIRC, Who's Your Daddy is basically a shitpost multiplayer game where you play as a baby and a father. The baby's goal is to kill itself, while the father's role is to stop that. I know because I saw someone else play it years ago.
