Continuing my interest of the political leanings of AVGN orbiters Red Cow Arcade, Frankie and EJ did a review of Stuttering Craig's Real Game Awards, which featured a prerecorded video cameo from Bimmy.

- this review was much more neutral to Skistimas this time. I don't recall any insults like grifter or mocking his right-leaning political beliefs.
- they mention that the award show really pushed paying 30$ to be able to sign up and participate in voting
- RCA called it an "anti-woke" award show, but later in the video Frankie said it wasn't that "'anti-woke" because they gave an award to a trans developer and the awards were awarded based on fan voting. Frankie felt that there was an overall meta of being anti-woke without the presenters explicitly stating as such
- a trans developer was given an award, then histrionically refused it, then gaming journos wrote about what a W it was to own the chuds by turning it down
- the winners of the Real Game Awards weren't notified before the presentation, so the awards were given regardless of application or acceptance
- no acceptance speeches, which moved the program along (whole thing was like 40 mins?)
- apparently no sponsors of the Real Game Awards, but did have a few free promos for indie games
- one of the promos was for a home brew AVGN 8bit spinoff on an actual NES cartridge. British guy from AVGN 200 episode was initially involved at very early development but now openly distances himself from the project
- Frankie thinks Bimmy is going to get flak for associating himself with Craig and the Game Awards because "you can't participate in things that aren't approved"
- they made passing reference to someone called 8bitjoystick making a lamenting response video that he was unsubscribing to AVGN after decades because James was now a Nazi chud or such

Only very tangentially AVGN adjacent, but Frankie Frain of Red Cow Arcade is a guest on Dancing With Ghosts (gay musician and music reviewer, occasional AVGN critic) livestream tonight.

During the stream, Frain talked about how he believes in some of the "ancient wisdom" value of Christianity as stories and a path to purpose and absolution without outright declaring himself a Christian as far as I heard. Somewhat similar to Jordan Peterson's talking points years ago.

Then he did some Trump impressions and talked dismissively about having an aunt with complete TDS hatred that has consumed her being.

I get the impression that RCA is center-right, maybe center-left. They seem to make fun of anyone that takes themselves too seriously politically, whether they are right or left wing. In this video, they make fun of both sides pretty equally. Just from watching the video I would say it definitely looks like a Mega-Man sprite swap romhack. Also the protagonist doesn't look a thing like James (even when he still had hair).

I don't mind that. I thought the references were pretty forced and unfunny in the last games.

Demo looks solid. The NES was sorely lacking when it came to good Run 'N Gun titles so I welcome more.
