Interesting video. He makes a fantastic point about the extras on Blu-Rays compared to DVDs in particular.

I would never even think about parting ways with my Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy DVDs, despite owning the trilogy on Blu-Ray. The extras on those DVDs, especially for Spider-Man 2, were amaaaaaazing. Alas, those extras are not available on the Blu-Rays.

I have my ultra decked out Special Edition DVD of Spider-Man 2 from 2004, and it still remains my favorite DVD that I own. It came with a lot of physical extras (like an artbook), but the DVD itself has over 10 hours of extras. I would never see that on a Blu-Ray these days, I don't think.

You do realize that if James published a video criticizing Raid: Shadow Legend, thousands of people would download it just to see how bad it is. People are smart enough to ignore commercials for obviously bad products, but turn the product into a meme and suddenly buying it becomes the hip thing to do.

Stumbling upon them, I got the feeling that even for whatever shit there is on Cinemassacre that could have its own drama, Cinemassacre Truth would sound like nothing more than a circlejerk akin to KiA. I'll never stop finding it funny on how they all get miffed in thinking how some top 10 rant on Blu-Ray was very terrible. I can't say but from what I saw in the video, James said he uses the PS3 for Blu-ray. I can't say much about Blu-ray but I wouldn't be surprised if the firmware stuff was more on the PS3. As for the Blu-ray movies, it could apply only to major studio titles but this all comes from a guy that hasn't really spent a lot of time on Blu-ray movies.

Not really. I think some updates are required for 3D Blu-Ray but that's it.

Not sure if this was already asked (I'll admit I'm too lazy to read all 22 pages on this thread, plus I don't follow AVGN as much as I used to) but regarding his new set-up, did he ever explicitly discuss it? Like in regards to his new Widescreen TV, because i know all of them have horrendous input lag with composite/component cables, did he specify what brand it was, or if there was a trick to lower (if not get rid of) the input lag (like using certain switches/converters or something)?

I'm asking as someone who's Man Cave is a "Retro Room" with a 30" CRT and owns a N64/Saturn/GameCube/PS1-PS2/Wii and uses nothing but composite/component cables (inb4 "PS2's can play PS1 games" because before i got the CRT, i had a LG Plasma Screen i got from one of my sister's friends that would refuse to display PS1 games on my PS2, so I have a PS1 just in case something like that happened again)
