So my educated guess is that his new episode will be about the game LSD since Tony is holding a PSX controller. I guess it's that game and Takeshi's challenge left in the barrel to scrape off when it comes to infamous games.
Rating you Optimistic because god I hope that's the case, it would then make sense as to why the episode is going to be a parody of Fear and Loathing.

I guess I'm supposed to know who this celebrity is and care what he says, but I don't.
He's Corey Taylor, guitarist and vocalist from the band Slipknot. He also did some vocals for the Nostalgia Critic's the Wall.

It seems a bit random to bring him in just to review a film. Maybe they listened to criticism and are trying to find a replacement for the lead vocalist of Rex Viper./sneed

That guy should find himself a real band and not a band that will only be known because the Angry Video Game Nerd plays guitar in it.

well bummer.png

ah bummer, looks like thats not the case

i mean, it is an episode that takes place in Las Vegas, and to be fair, its kinda cute that hes going to review a game based off of the casino, so maybe it wont be that bad

The odds are stacking up against me but i'm clinging by a needle of hope that it will be a compilation episode, however a dream simulator has to do with Caesars palace though haha.

They could've at least slapped james' face on tony..

Surprised they didn't make this an AVGN ep. but then again that would have required more effort from james than reading some lines.
I wish AVGN had reviewed an arcade game at some point (Polybius doesn't count). Back in the day, he had to have been able to track down an arcade game dumb enough to rage at and write a funny script around, and then track down an arcade which had a cabinet of the game he could film.

Or hell, just get his own cabinet Nintoaster style.

Couldnt have said it better. The cinnemassacre truth subreddit and threads on v or tv are full of people who think he could be doing great things and arnt living up to their standards.
The guy made something that blew up when he was on his early 20s fresh out of film school. Kept with it and blew his load on an allegedly shitty movie (havnt seen it thats what i hear). The dude is pushing 40 with a wife and kids so I cant blame him for coasting off his nerd character. Hell wouldnt you if it was paying the bills? I respect the dude for his early work, hell Board James is his magnum opus in my eyes. I thought it was gonna be some throw away bs but it was pretty good for what it was.
If he didnt do the nerd movie I would think he wouldve made some 1950's scifi B movie or some grind house horror flick like Texas Chainsaw...
In my opinion the guy should focus on his movie reviews, i mean his monster madness videos. I learnt a lot of film history from them, hell it got me into the old monster flicks. Could he do that for ever? Nah but it seems like its something he enjoyed, like what he wanted to do. Like you said the dude's 40 he dosnt need to be raging at old shitty games he dosnt play anymore. Its just a paycheck i get it.
You can say what you want about the guy, and plenty of people shit on him for recreation(amongst other people)
But does anyone really think at this stage he's gonna pull some magic with the nerd? Get out of here. The R.O.B. episode wouldve been a good ending to the character.
I know he made a sequal to a college film he made, the flying skull or some shit, and more people wanted to watch Justin Silverman's Gangar collection than Jame's horror flick. Which is a shame, mightve swayed him away from taking risks with his ideas and kept him marching foward with things he knows people will tune in for. Even if its to shit on him. He's got kids to worry about. Imagine a dude more concerned with pleasing fanboys online than his own flesh and blood. Fuck man god bless em
Word. Cinemassacre truth types just come off as not enjoying a thing they once enjoyed and not being able to get over it. I go to that subreddit and I get confused about what I'm supposed to be mad about. That James lost his passion for the Nerd like a decade ago and hired a bunch of uncharismatic spergs to do the heavy lifting? To me, it's just like, whatever, I'll just move on to the 5 billion other YouTube channels that make more compelling content instead of fixating on one.

Dude makes 6 figs and gets to spend as much time with his kids as he wants. My mans is living the dream. Thanks for the laughs, James. You get that paper.

That subreddit is so conflicted with adoring and despising, james & the slobs . Ironic, that they always shat on mike, but now that he's gone , they finally appreciate him, just like Kyle & Bootsy. At this point, were lucky he's still chugging along hasn't retired and passed the mantle on to someone younger.
After the 5:40 incident I'm not really sure
last year of J&MM was rough, I actually liked having this in the background , until I noticed james would nod off until he was "out of time"
