For those of you who don't get it. Most asian men who are trad (tm) are USELESS around the house. Like literally actively make things worse instead of even keeping it at a status quo for stay at home mom/wife. Western dads at least grill or make saturday pancakes or do stuff with the kids. Stereotypical asian dad? Lmao nope. Gg if he even knows how to cook.
In (mostly) 3rd world asia the "be glad your husband doesn't beat you" or even if he does "well at least he earns money don't speak badly about him :/" is too real. In China/Japan if youre X age and not married you get hounded incessantly or seen as an undesirable. (In Japan there's a term " 負け犬" aka Maké Inu which is basically calling a woman whose over 30 without kids/unmarried a defeated dog). I'm 1000% sure there's an equivalent in China. China they have literal public parks where people advertise their kids for marraige so their daughters don't end up husbandless (literally worse than death to an Asian because it's dishonorable). Arranged marraige for sake of saving face is normalized in most asian countries even though most people find their partners organically.
James' wife was likely ready to do all the work. He's a single child who has an overbearing mom. She knew she was marrying because she was bought and making her family happy by being useful and having a son. She likely could cope if JCW made money because that's the cope all abused/neglected asian women use to excuse their husband being shitty people.
Asian women got it ROUGH for a place that is first world level in many of the developed areas due to the core belief systems that shaped the east. If Confucius wasn't dead already I would kill him.
Tl;dr- Jame's wife literally had the bar at the bottom level for her husband and he managed to dig a hole in the ground to go even further than her expectation of zero. This is truly impressive. You have no idea.
