[Jan-2019] Resident Evil 2 Hardcore Difficulty - Cuz he's got "balls of steel"

He apparently ruined Chrono Trigger for me, I just can’t bear to watch a TIHYDP for it. I just can’t do it. I love it too much. He also raped MH4U, another top 10 game for me... It’s no wonder he never bothered with MHW, he put such little effort into MH4U (and claimed he was going to 100% it, as if that can be done, laughable) that his Palico ended up killing all his hunts for him. If he didnt have an attack dealing familiar with him he would never get past Great Jaggi.

For what it's worth, this month is not much more than a little above average on the whole. And his Patreon hasn't risen. And his 30-day YT views are still around 920k. Plus, you're not begging literal teenagers (see, for example: https://twitter.com/Johnthefool2 , alias lightsydejohn6) for your income.

He most definitely chose hardcore mode for the simple fact that he wanted to attract the detractors. It worked on me for a bit. I wanted to see this idiot fail I got what I wanted. Of course I watched a restream but not everyone knows about them. He knows the harder he fails the more viewers he gets and you cant convince me otherwise

He's just so boring. There are these long minute plus pauses where he just reads chat or frowns at the TV while he plays, then he will slowly explain what he plans to do next and why he will do it, but only while he is paused looking at the map screen. No commentary other than descriptions for the blind. "I am going to go down the hallway, OH FUCK THERES A LICKER... A licker is in the hallway, heh he heh heh. I dont even have any healing items!"

How can anyone suffer through that daily?

The contrast between Maximillian's stream and Phil's is jarring. Max had almost 20k viewers last night during his crazy long Hardcore mode stream, and his mods have been timing people out for backseat gaming. He's pretty good at the game, doesn't talk TOO much and it's just a pleasant experience all around. Then you got Phil. He complains, he talks too much, his chat basically plays the game for him. It's so weird.

You can't change difficulty in-game once you've made your pick and it would be obvious if he did anyways. Hardcore is limited typewriter only saves with ink ribbons and easy/normal works via autosave. Aim assist is also disabled in hard mode. Enemies take way more damage too.

Lots of people (myself included) are finding out the hard way the game isn't going to spawn you extra supplies on bosses and such so there's a fair chance he could run into a dead end soon and be forced to at least go back a couple of hours or maybe restart altogether. I reckon he'd switch to normal if he had to.. and blame chat for making him even consider hardcore.

According to the internet, if you die repeatedly, the game will offer you the chance to lower the difficulty... Now... I can confirm it is true from normal to assisted. I died... I mean my friend died 2 times and game offered him the chance. How many times dsp died? Did the game ever offer him? Also, Reading some forums about struggling at hardcore, I dont really see anyone mentioning this. Confused.

EDIT: I found a post on steamforums that says you CANT lower the difficulty when playing hardcore... although adaptive difficulty still applies, meaning that if you die a lot, the game gets a bit easier. So we still get the rage and maybe he can finish it?

Yeah I've died a bunch on hardcore and it's never offered me the choice to change the difficulty. I'm at an impasse on a boss fight as well, I don't have enough ammo to win the fight so adaptive or not there are situations you can get yourself into where you simply won't be able to progress any further. I have no idea what they were thinking not giving you a standard unbreakable knife like.. every other RE game out there. I hear you can get one in NG+ but that's no use to me just now!

For my money it hasn't relented with me dying either .. you may get lucky with a random instant head pop every now and again but that was happening before I was dying and has occurred less the further along I've went. It plays much the same way the original REmake does.. only enemies don't bleed out so it's harder to tell if they're actually dead unless you take their head off.

I'd say there's a good chance for rage with him on it but he also has this ridiculous habit at times of being able to cheese parts you'd expect him to be stuck at for hours.

Going through the David Davidson stream right now.
I died inside when he decided to brute force the locker padlock. I came back to life when he finally found the combination and the locker contained only shotgun shells. lmao.

Edit: Holy shit, he's gonna brute force another one.

During yesterday's stream he talked about how sound carries throughout the house because the walls are paper thin. This made me think about the other complaints he makes about his house: bad internet, bad air conditioning, the rooms are the wrong size for their function / the fap seat blocks the closet, everything's a half hour drive away, etc. He proclaims "I worked my ass off for this house" and it's as fucked up as he is.

Last night's stream is the first time I checked up on his REmake2 stream because I heard he was having some salty moments. But man I was a bit disappointed because his second stream was just complete dogshit.
Walking around in danger, complete being a pussy about Mr. X, saving almost every 20 minutes, dead air almost consistently, and just reading stream chat for hand holding.

I can see the only interesting thing going on right now is Mr. X. But even he is trying to make that completely nullified by being a pussy and camping in every other empty rooms.
