[Jan-2019] Resident Evil 2 Hardcore Difficulty - Cuz he's got "balls of steel"

People are desperately trying to give him instructions (each one with a 50 bit cheer, or he won't bother to read it). They repeated where to find flamethrower ammo three times and Phil just kept saying "I don't know what you're talking about! What do you mean?!" without even pausing for a second to process it. Finally someone cheered to say "Back where you kept dying to those two zombies" and Phil responded "Oh, okay. That's better!"

That's better. No 'thank you'. No acknowledgement of the cheers for any of these people. Just keep spitting instructions at him until he understands it, then fuck you for not holding his hand firmly enough the first time. He's really ramping up to exceptional levels on his expectations of hand holding, which is odd because he wants day one views, but expects people to be able to guide him. Why are they watching you then, Phil? Meanwhile, I have no idea what they get out of him abusing them like this.

Over 750 viewers, gotta be over $300 total so far with cheers and tips. he is getting worse and worse, more cocky and more cocky, lazier and lazier, ruder and nastier and richer and richer, this world just makes no sense anymore.
He is a man child playing videogames for autists on the internet and making some okay money from it .Who the fuck cares?

Even worse is that Phil explicitly presents this as though HE is good when he has had his hand held the whole time. Directions to ink ribbons and key items, and the gator boss would have driven him nuts if he hadn't been given the pattern in advance. Then he beats it and he's like 'that was easy'. It was easy for you because someone in your chat went through it and figured it out so your ego could remain intact, you mean.

When he was wrapping up just now, he said he 'did it', and that he had surprised the people who said he couldn't do it. He gave thanks for the cheers subs and tips, but not a mention of the extensive help received. Phil's continued existence has always been questionable, but this new level of entitlement and the way the pigs are just rolling with it is really boggling my mind.

Yeah I feel like a complete dumbass watching him again after I realized how the run was going.
So for everyone out there, just wait for a TIHYDP. It's a complete slog of a playthrough.
He was literally reading chat and had the nerve to ask them on what to do, staring at the map just talking to himself outloud.

I honestly cannot tell if saying outloud his plans is a subtle way to have chat give him an answer, or his commentary is just shit.
So please, just do yourself a favor and don't bother watching.

Imagine Phil playing by OG rules where you just have to figure shit out on your own, lol.
I'm pretty sure Phil touted himself as coming from the time where people had to figure shit out themselves and the games didn't hold their hands and over simplify themselves for the sake of Noobs....ha

I was going to check in on Phil's stream but I just can't. His constant relaying of OBVIOUS information as a substitute for legit commentary is beyond annoying. Instead I chose to watch Max's stream again. He finished the first Hardcore playthrough for Leon and got pretty far on Claire's playthrough on Hardcore. About 9 hours of stream with maybe two five minute breaks. It seems that Phil is going to take at least a week to finish this since there is so much here and I doubt he'll go through Claire's story. Not only that but there are A and B sides for both characters with seperate endings and the possibility for a playthrough as Hunk. There's no way Phil is going to give this game any real attention. It'll get the "Triple A game, play it because it's popular" treatment and then he'll be playing Kingdom Hearts and shitting on that.

Does Hardcore respawn zombies constantly like Normal does?

Because there'll be some fun if he thinks he's cleared enemies out and goes back to some clusterfuck hallways.

One thing about Zombies in this game, you can down them like 4-5 times, knife them and get no reaction, and the next time you run thru the hallway or whatever, the zombie you thought you killed will spring to life. Basically, every zombie you kill isnt actually dead until you completely blow the head off.

Saw AngriestPat on Twitch repeatedly "kill" the same zombie 7 times and everytime he ran thru the hallway it was in, it would get up. it wasnt until he got a crit headshot that it stayed down.

I love how DSP automatically assumes that something is impossible.

He never even thinks that he could possibly be doing something wrong nor that maybe he should try something else.

He has to put himself in the corner dood. Nothing else he could do you armchair quarterbacks.

DSP just called Capcom developers lazy because they programmed a boss fight in a narrow corridor and didn't get him enough room to dodge.

Keep in mind, he hasn't fired one bullet in the last 3-4 attempts at this boss. Now DSP decides to conserve ammo during a boss fight because he can kill the boss with the crate instead of attempting to stun the boss by hitting his weakpoint for massive damage.

Edit: DSP is pissed off now because games are random sometimes.

He thought he found a glitch where he could stand in one spot and not get hit, but the second attempt he did get hit so he actually paused the game to complain about how RNG in video games suck.

Current State of Stream:

Top cheer by SaveThePigTheGame
Top tip by Penne Phil

Phil is again dunked like Shaq would with a basketball by the boss and yelled:

"This is not a real boss fight, Capcom is a piece of shit, this was nowhere close to what the old game was like, and LOOK AT THERE, LOOK, DID YOU SEE THAT!"

(Phil was next to the boss and got dunked again)

"I wasn't even in the hit box of that move, my hurtbox did not extend that far and his claw was nowhere near me, fuck you Capcom this makes ZERO SENSE"

Chat again laughed at him, saying that this is not street fighter why is he talking about hitbox and hurtbox....

Hitboxes in Hardcore mode are fucking massive. Expecially for grabs. Phil is an idiot who started something he had no idea the implications of. This game is actually pretty tough on Normal and Easy settings.

PlanetJeff has swooped in to do one of his random large tips. $200 should ensure that tonight is a "good stream".

Well, per Goutsydephil on Twitter, Jeff's message said something about his wife dying last year and that's why he supports Phil. Can one of our usual suspects clip the tip + Phil's response? Genuinely curious how he responded to that.

Edit: Also, after looking around, PlanetJeff was the person who did the $100, $200, and $400 tips during the #savethehouse begathon around Christmas of 2017. So presumably before the wife died?

Assuming he's being genuine with that message (yes yes I know), what is even the logic behind that? "Oh my wife died so now I can throw money at a 36-year old lolcow with nobody to lecture me about it." What?

Donating to DSP in the name of a passed loved one should be grounds for a Class Three haunting at least.
