These are lies. In Nihon the most popular sports are ancient and graceful disciplines of karate (known as shotakan) and sumo wrestling (known as jiujutsu). Western sports are by comparison oafish and barbaric.

Have you had any contact at all with another Japan expert known as Ken-Sama? He has been out of contact since the tsunami of 2011 and I am worried that his fine warrior spirit was no match for the earthquakes and tidal waves. Here is a picture:

Sorry I know that was a bit of a joke but no not really, Japan just made swords long and thin out of necessity by being constrained with resources available. Japan is a country quite light on resources they made the most out of anything and everything they could so pig iron (aka Bog Iron, it is also the place we got Bog standard from) was used and refined as much as they could. European Swords are just as comparable and didn't have to skimp on mass (handy in a sword). Where they did beat Europe is the science of metallurgy but only on a basic level mostly from observation, the Japanese worked hard with limited resources an applied a rough kind of science to the study of metal.

We level pegged technologically until the invention of easily manufactured Glass, and we got to grips with the practical application of Optics. In Europe learned thinkers had a 10 - 20 year longer active life due to having Glass to work with and correct failing vision and the close up investigations they where able to perform.

There was also cultural things giving Europe the advantage but the scientific advances we where able to achieve won out in the end.

I forgot to brain when I wrote that, so I have fixed up the wording.
