Yeah, people analyze the clip and can tell he could have probably saved them, but in the heat of the moment people some times just go retarded. From what I remember of him talking to Tyler after the fact he stated, in summary, he didn't want to lose his character to a clusterfuck of a situation - in effect owning up to roaching out. There's plenty of shit Maldy does and has done that's worth criticism (including the massive spergouts afterwards) but that 2 minutes of gameplay was completely reasonable.
