I think this is a good point. It was a couple of guys on Discord as far as I know, no "HEY EVERYONE, LET'S CRASH THIS THING" call to action was made. Plus even if they did it there is a chance that their signature will be rejected after a while, even BEFORE the initiative ends. There was one guy here in the thread who remembers signing it, but few weeks (or was it months?) his signature was rejected because the bank account he used for verification was somehow found fraudulent? And he had to sign again, this time using his ID for verification. So yeah, not much damage is being done by a few Malding Bootlickers doing this.

To the code monkeys in thread, answer me this. How hard is it for dialogue to be put into a game, assigned to a character?

Is not hard to do, what is hard-er to do is make (but already solved in hundreds of different ways) it so changes are easy to do and not break the existing codebase. If you start hardcoding stuff on arrays, with hardcoded indices, every time you add or remove stuff, there is potential for breaking all the previous stuff, making development a slog as the project grows.

You can get by with bad code on small, throwaway projects, but past a certain size it is night impossible to add or remove anything without breaking some random piece of code you might have written months ago. Even if he was a God-tier coder it would be a hard to maintain codebase.

TL: DR: Mald cannot develop the game because it breaks at every step.
