"games that we can pull the plug on might be prohibitively expensive to make" good. how is that a bad thing at all? so we either dont get our games because theyre yours to pull on a whim or theyre not ours because you dont make them to then ruin. are video games the only industry where the suits dont even try to dress it up as a consumer plus? its just they give you reasons its a plus or minus for them and youre just supposed to care. this is like "if we have to inspect meat juan cant sell you worm ridden rot from the back of his pickup truck" yeah thats kinda the fucking idea.

They're deliberately obfuscating the core issue: the industry is now like this when it once wasn't. It's easier than they know, and they're scared of returning to the times of :optimistic:

Indie devs are nowhere near going to need to change compared to large publisher studios. I suspect middleware and vendor parties are pulling the strings on this.

So what are the chances of Heartbound being in one of those bundle stores completely devaluing the game's price for keyshop sites to take over?

Virtually zero:

Couldnt you easily redact a police report to show as proof of a SWAT?, hell everyone owns a Ring camera nowadays, and a 1337 hackerman probably has a fancy shmancy CCTV setup powered by his genius, if he can stream his rape bait mustelids then he could probably get the go to share a vid of the coppers knocking at his door, he could even ask his lawyer janny how to do it!

not sure if anyone mentioned this, but he once said that the local PD know of him, and know that people might try to "swat" him, and yet in the clip of him talking about getting swatted, he says "now the police know who i am"(pretty sure)
Yes, he did say this. It's somewhere in his sea of shorts that he has. I really call that into question, but if we were to give him benefit here, the police would see, "Oh wait, this is that retarded streamer, let's have our patrol teams go and check first before we go over board." So he probably got a visit from a couple squad cars assuming this is true, not a full on SWATting.

yeah and dipshits like pirate want you to believe they have your interests at heart. funny how pre live service we still had games, funny how companies are thriving with games sold at 20 bucks but we suddenly need 90 dollar games.

I notably DONT see valve / steam on the list. Maybe its because they aren't european based though.

ALSO I recall sweden WAS blue rank before, but is now gold again, seemingly they lost a few signatures which were bad???

So I guess thats evidence the audit is already happening
Sweden still blue for me

Why would rights holders be liable for stuff that happens on a private server? Does that argument even make sense legally?
They wouldn't. The only legitimate concern would be that "terrorists are using Trademark Game 2 servers to trade CP" being a headline, when Trademark Game 3 is out, still associating it with the brand/company. But that's a brand image issue, not a legal liability. And even then, that's an assumption that it's not properly reported on as being on private servers, after an attempt to get the headline corrected, for a hypothetical situation in the first place. No one is doing this running private Quake 2 servers or whatever the fuck else that's been possible for decades.

Have you guys heard the new cope? People are now saying he acted like a retard on purpose to whip the internet hate machine into a frenzy to get signatures. I've seen several trusty worthy content creators say this now, if anyone knows what the source is I'd like to know.
I said it 100+ posts ago and have seen it posted many times on xitter and 4chan as a joke (reminiscent of the people who created memes about the Trump shooter being a secret Q-patriot who was tasked with performing a miraculous near-miss shot, dying, and having his name tarnished forever just to get Trump reelected—as with that I doubt anyone seriously thinks Maldy spent over a decade pissing off various online communities, filing false DMCA strikes, exhibiting Yanderedev tier laziness, etc. all the while being an insufferably smug, gay furry in a bid to build himself up as the perfect villain to inflame people to vote for SKG out of spite).

If it wasn't for live streams I'd assume decompiler did a poor job.

That makes me sick. Line 7 and 9 can be nested under conditions of 5, and line 11 and 14 can be logic run through the conditional parameters.

Here's my quick refactor. Be gentle I don't touch GML or Java-like langs except the Holy C (all C-langs, not referring to Terry's to be clear):

JavaScript:
if (talking_state == 0) {
    scr_talk();
} else if (
    global.current_talker == id &&
    options_state == 0 &&
    global.accept_key &&
    text_complete == 1
) {
    text_complete = 0;
    switch (next_step) {
        case 1:
            end_dialog();
            break;
    }
}

His coding style reads as extreme paranoia.
Also he's not using AI, because AI (from my usage of Co-Pilot) tends to bracket in-line as all good programmers know. Looking at you, new-line bracketers. Shaaaame.

Basically the obvious "nuh-uh" that Ross had already predicted publishers would say.
Here's who they are, practically every publisher:

Hopefully them using the almost same exact arguments as Mald ("hecking bad people could post badthink!" And "making vidyas play offline is hard!!!") makes people take them to task on how idiotic they are

Yup:

Good news from the Discord; the EU will be helping to clear out bogus signatures (presumably before the deadline) to get a better grip on what we'll need to get this done.

John Deere's argument they've had their lawyers parading around whenever they send lobbyists fighting right to repair legislation is that if people are "allowed" to repair their own tractors/farm equipment they might mess with the emissions system or fix it improperly which, according to them, will make John Deere legally liable for Clean Air Act violations. Of course they have no examples and that's never happened in any industry but take their word for it.
