Two and a half years after the case started, and mere weeks before the trial, Jeremy's PD has filed a Motion to Sever, arguing that the organizing, planning or participating in an intentional motor vehicle collision and failure to register vehicle while a convicted nonce charges should be tried separately from his fraudulent insurance application/claims charges, on the grounds that trying everything together would unfairly prejudice him, and knowledge he's a chomo is irrelevant to accusations he's a scammer.


Considering they have him absolutely dead to rights on every charge anyway, my guess is he's hoping that by potentially turning it into three trials instead of one, the prosecutor might deal to avoid the increased workload.
