That movie, despite some outdated things from today's standards, is still a hugely loved film for queer people, especially older gays and just for gay rep in general. I legitimately suspect she's never actually seen Rocky Horror, either; what little she's said about is incongruous with the actual movie. None of which is to say that you have to like Rocky Horror -- it is bizarre, campy in every conceivable way, doesn't have much of what we in the business call 'a plot' -- but if you're going to hold it up as hallmark of queer representation then yeah you should actually familiarize yourself with its history and its impact it had for and on real people, and not just make assumptions based on "Sweet Transvestite".

Oh absolutely she has not seen Utena. Look at how her script treats it-- "I bet you've heard of this show, it sure did exist." It's a mindfuck, and completely out of Lily 'Tell The Audience How They're Supposed to Feel' Orchard's wheelhouse.
