It was originally done to subvert Lily from using transphobia against the haters. If you're respecting pronouns and names, it's much harder for Orchard to shout at you that you're fucking heckin transphobe. IIRC this used to be one of a few places you could shittalk Peet before more tumblr blogs and the rest of youtube started clowning on the videos, so the thread being older and providing a resource for those who needed to have pronouns respected or dismiss the source entirely (whether they liked to or not) was a good practice. Lily also reads this thread, so it's hilarious when you know she's coping and seething that she can't call her personal thread transphobic (but will still do it anyway) and I think keeping it going as-is is funny due to it.

The Disney commentaries used 15% of the movie, not 100%. If you hadn't seen the movie, the video is impenetrable. A key aspect of Fair Use is that your use isn't supposed to serve as a replacement for the original content.

Not all fanfiction is made equal in that regard. Some genres of fanfiction (rewrites, songfics, novelizations, RPF) are flagrant copyright infringement, which was why they were often straight up banned from most fanfiction websites.
Early days of Fanfiction.Net saw a lot of people adding legal disclaimers saying they don't own the material they're writing for, claiming it would keep them from being taken down. In reality these disclaimers do nothing to protect you.
AO3 bans Patreon links on the basis that making money from fanfiction will bring down copyright suits. Reality is that it doesn't actually matter if you're making money or not, infringement is determined by other factors.
The truth is that fanfiction has long been protected by the sheer indifference of the copyright holder because nobody can claim fanfiction damages the integrity of the work in question.
Is The Sith Resurgence protected under Fair Use? Not in the slightest. The only thing I could protect is Darth Amorosa, because I created her and therefore she is mine.
Copyright Infringement hinges mostly on whether or not you are defaming a work in question, or providing an avenue to access a work that the owner didn't sign off on, because the rights holder is entitled to control those things.
Copyright holders generally only go after fanworks if they're especially big and notable and causing problems (Hence why Hasbro had Princess Molestia sent to the Shadow Realm)
But the reality is most fanworks aren't worth going after, and every company has a different policy on what they will and will not bother with. None of the arguments in favour of "transformative media" stopped Nintendo from striking fangames off the internet, or stopped Anne Rice from having Fanfiction.Net disallow fanfics based on her work.
Rice herself did so out of a fear it would damage the reputation of her works, and cooled off on it over the years when she realized that wasn't the case and she needn't have bothered.
The dirty secret of Fanart and Fanfiction is that they don't really hold up under Fair Use in 90% of cases, and copyright holders just can't be bothered. AO3 might be stockpiling money for legal defense, but the reality is they just aren't important enough for rights holders to be concerned about.

But Teamyoutube is getting an earful from everyone.

The thing is, trauma responses aren't mind control. They might be impulsive, but they're trained responses. There's an internal logic (however skewed) going on with them.
Personal crap after the break
For example, my thing is extreme avoidance. The main reason I've kept in contact with my parents is because it's the easiest way to see my niece and nephew. Without that, I wouldn't have rebuilt a relationship with them at all.
My sister on the other hand I avoid like plague and shut down any attempt by anyone to get us to talk. And I view anyone who tries to force me to talk to her as an immediate threat.

She is just playing nice with her parents in order to spend time with Cameron's children.

I think it was some weird attempt to jump ship to a new community and leech off my audience. But because her pride gets the better of her, her entire "apology" was monstrously backhanded.
That's why she reacted so badly to me responding with "I told you so" in regards to how she let herself get fucked over by horrifically abusive people out of a pathetic, one-sided grudge. Christ, the visceral discomfort I got from an 11-second clip has no words. The way Mikaila was shut down and then she so quickly complied, how can anyone even without context not call this abusive?

I'm always going to have my mixed feelings about Mikaila and her own compliance in the abusive tirade Lily forces everyone who knows her into but I know symptoms of abuse and it's staring right back in my face. I ask this all the time but genuinely what do you ever stand to gain being associated with Lily when this is all you get out of it? Is the porn stash that good? Is the escapist fantasy really THAT good? Is this an "I can fix her" situation where you delude yourself into thinking the power of love can save someone despite them being a lost cause? How Lizzy acted was pretty similar, based on what I can tell. Very defensive of her, going to bat to defend her, a lot of similar speculation in the thread over how much she knows or if she's in on everything, etc.

Even after the breakup, once Lily started shitting on her (which Lily didn't seem to do until a good while after, like from what I can tell she didn't start really going on about how bad Lizzy was until pretty close to the time Mikaila entered the picture) Lizzy was still trying to be nice and careful of her, at least to the degree one can attempt to do so with Lily.

So yeah, it looks like all the same playbook.
