What the fuck is this "production status" and why is Jerry almost bragging about it?
Why the fuck would you finish up a much, much later segment first then go back and do everything?
Why the fuck is the introduction not finished yet, Jesus Christ Jerry it's the first part of your video you don't get to start on chapter 100 when you start a story you stupid cuck.
Lastly, are you implying that you're not recording your vocals BEFORE editing?

How are you going to keep a consistent tone throughout the video if you do multiple recordings over several months of editing?

Like, oh, he’s showing his progress on his video, cool. Not a terrible thing, really tbh, I guess it’s just the less-pretentious version of Leafy posting a screenshot of Sony Vegas and talking about how haaaaaaaaaaard he’s working (something I think Jerry’s done before too).
You could say he was doing it to flex on other creators but I don’t know about that.

Sure, it's unnecessary and the process is weird, but nothing to get worked up about one way or another.

The same could be said about Metokur's video on MundaneMatt. It was an hour long, but all he really had to say was "Matt flagged people who talked shit about him, Matt spent 2 hours denying this, Matt showed his report history and was shown to be a liar".Hey, that's my job.

The point isn't to say this is unorthodox and we should make fun of him for it. The point established here is that this feels way more disorganized than it should for a video essay yelling at people for liking Steven Universe to the point that you're going to do it for two hours.
It's scripted, sure, but what happens now is that Jerry's priorities are telling me three things.
1) He's jumping around from place to place meaning that audio and visual consistency is going to be off. (For an example, try reading a script along with a movie while also acting out a scene. Spoilers; You're not going to match the film 1 to 1, and it's going to be blatantly obvious. Now try presenting that to a professional.)
2) If you don't have an outline of what you're going to do with your visual aids, you're going to end up using a lot of the same images over and over again and that defeats the point of making this a video presentation when you're supposed to be constantly moving a point forward. (Even RLM didn't do this 100% well in their Star Wars reviews, and yes this is a bad thing.) The reason being that you're going to use the first immediate images that come to mind and most of the time, people subconsciously organize things by a vague notion of prioritizing the stuff that comes first.
3) Even if your script and visuals and audio are so accommodating that you can jump from point to point however you like and individually they're all so fine they can be their own video, what's that gonna say about transitioning each point to each? And I'm not talking about dumb little title cards that lead into the next segment, I mean that the video's going to naturally feel more clunky because you're stitching segments of varying quality together randomly rather than progressively improving in a straight line (or making things worse)
The point I'm trying to make is that Jerry's methods as they're being presented to me feel sloppy, and given the bare-bones shitty quality of the editing present in his current videos, no one can argue in good faith that he can keep consistent quality on a months long project that totals to a run-time of a fucking movie and then some.
That's stupid and out of reach. People have the same editing process of script-vocals-editing for a reason; not because it's "Kewl" or "In" but because it's the most efficient way to put together a video and also leaves it so that it's much simpler to catch mistakes. This whole production feels amateurish and it's gonna be Jerry's pet project.
And people will believe this because it's long. Jerry's actual video quality never gets addressed here because he's always saying batshit stupid crap, but even as an "editor" or "creator" his stuff is woefully mediocre, and I want to express that as it's one of the few rarely touched upon venues of criticisms we still have.
And darn it if I'm gonna let his obviously laziness slip by me after keeping tabs all this time.

Am I mistaken in thinking the steven universe video was announced midway through last year? The scheduled release is sometime in september and only 10 or so minutes of this nearly two hour long video is actually done. Dear lord.

I can't believe I didn't realise it back when I posted about it months ago, but I just realised the obvious tell that Orchard/Peet's "Every MLP episode in 10 words or less" video is an obvious and petty attempt to one-up josh. Peet/Orchard doesn't do anything "by popular request"

I thought it was kinda funny in the “this is so fucked up that it’s funny” kinda way, but nobody said that Jerry and his fans had a sense of humor. Though to be fair, not everyone could find an old guy touching himself while gawking at other actresses on set to be funny.
In any case, I’m not sure if that was a joke or a true story, but if the #MeToo crowd (or the same crowd that got Gunn fired) got ahold of that, they’d crucify de Lancie and he’d get fired from MLP. Since people like his character, this would provide a fuckton of salt for years to come.

Now i don't know who he's talking about but every girl in the listed cast is older than he is save rachel ward who was born in 57 meaning she was 26 at the time. That's hardly any kind of creepy scandal unless it's just illegal for guys to like women at all now.
