Oooh! The site's bookmarks feature serves its purpose!
So, yeah. There's being professional. And then there's being Jerry.
It's fine not to be friends with your fans (ADoseOfBuckley is a stellar example of this, and a MUCH better Jerry than Jerry is lol), but heck, you shouldn't treat them like dirt. Being "professional" doesn't give you an excuse to be an asshole to the people who actively support you.
And come on, Jerry's not even "professional" to begin with. The way Jerry treats his fans? His opinions of them? Let's take a look:
(By the way some of these don't have links cus the idiots in the earlier pages forgot to archive them, thanks a lot)

"If someone leaves negative feedback on someone else's content, I'll scream at them on Discord until they cry"
Here's a rather important fun fact, by the way: Jerry berates Josh in this post and in many others for not reining in his fans and "allowing them to harass people", but when Josh allegedly does try to rein in his fans to prevent them from attacking people, Jerry treats it like a bad thing. Not only is that a double standard Jerry has about reining in fans and making sure they don't attack other people (as seen above), and not only is that a double standard about using the testimony of former friends/fans without due skepticism, if you're gonna berate him for doing that to a fan given that you've done this above, then that's a double standard about how to treat your fans in the first place as well.
For the sake of brevity, here are the basic points,
Don't berate someone for:
-trying to rein in their fans while you are actively scorning them for allegedly not doing that (above).
-taking 3rd party testimony from someone, if you take 3rd party testimony about someone you don't like.
-mistreating their fans if you mistreat yours (this entire post).

"So I hear you're bored and/or depressed, here's something I think you might like"
"GO FUCK YOURSELF ASSHOLE"
(Like I said earlier, there's being professional, and then there's just being a straight up ass. If you were professional with your viewers, you wouldn't lash out at them if they gave you a simple recommendation, you'd either say "thanks", "no thanks", or you'd ignore them.)

"You know? My fans annoy me more than neo-nazi alt-right hatestalkers who totally want me dead."
Jerry mistreats his fans every chance he gets, as if belittling them is some kind of ego boost. This isn't "being professional". You can certainly make a point about a content creator not owing anything to their viewers on a personal level, but you can't make an excuse for being a toxic asshole. And like I said before, you can't
use it as an excuse to be a shitbag to people, especially when it doesn't even apply.
"But nah. This isn't abnormal or abusive! This is just "being professional", and thinking this is disgusting or wrong is just an "alt-right hate boner" in action! Lily is just going through a hard time! She's not mean! She can change!"
...like, isn't that logic that abuse victims would use? Lol
