The evidence isn't necessarily all gone -- if you've ever seen an episode of Forensic Files, you know that no matter how careful killers think they are, DNA evidence splashes around everywhere. A single bone fragment, blood droplet, piece of brain tissue hidden in a little crack or crevice somewhere. Of course, those are all things that are incredibly easy to overlook. Another thing is the shitloads of CCTV footage from absolutely everywhere. There's probably dozens of videos of JF lugging around suspicious looking bags and case from place to place. For every rat you see, there's 20 you don't.

I highly doubt JF is Dexter fucking Morgan and managed to completely cover his tracks. Something, somewhere will give him away if the RCMP care enough to look. If they fumble this case, however, then JF will get away with it for sure.

In fact, I would argue that JF is quite similar to Dexter. He gutted his house and did a "covid decontamination" deep clean. The RCMP niggers aren't finding shit.

Except that JF lives in the middle of nowhere, PEI. Unless a neighbour caught him on their security camera there likely isn't any footage of him doing suspicious activities.

Even the convenience store where he dropped Elora off didn't have any footage. They only keep a couple of months worth of video before writing over old stuff, so by the time she got reported missing they didn't have anything.

He did something a while back whilst she was still with him involving boiling down cows bones etc, I don't think there will be a body found based on this weird fuckers activities in the months prior and after her disappearance.

If you boil bones long enough when making bone broth, those bones will crumble in your hands. It is easy enough to cook down chicken bones to that point with a little bit of vinegar. I don't know how long it would take to cook down large mammal bones.

Unless you burn the whole building down to ashes, there's still evidence all over the fucking place, no matter how careful you think you are. I highly suspect that his "deep clean" wasn't nearly as deep as he tries to make it sound. All it takes is for one surface to still have blood residue on it, or one tiny little corner to have a skull fragment in it, and you have forensic proof she's dead. Will they find a whole body? Likely not. Can they find enough parts of her that can't be outside the body without her being dead? Almost definitely yes.

I'm in two minds about her family. Half of me thinks that the family have been given information by the police and are patiently waiting for them to make an arrest and are understanding there's not enough evidence at the moment. The other half of me would be so frustrated with the lack of movement I would be doing anything to turn the heat up.

It'd be great if a podcast picked this up and started some public interest. Cases involving a missing woman who's husbands claim just up and left them with the kids are insanely popular. I've seen smaller cases with less information gain traction. gaRapey's history/online footprint and self-disclosed deep clean and drywall repair is enough for an episode, surely.

We just don't know what the police knows - they could know absolutely nothing or they have a good idea of what happened, but just don't have that piece of evidence to conclusively prove it (ie something that proves she's, without a doubt, dead). As someone mentioned the Asha Degree case, it's been fairly obvious with how things are trickling out that the investigators have had a fair idea what potentially happened to her, but didn't have that proof to link anyone to it. As an example, eight years ago (15 years after her disappearance) they release information about her being seen as "getting into" a car of a retro model. Now they've changed that to Asha being pulled in when they started zero-ing in on the family that owns the car.

JFG's case they might be hoping that he'll move from that property eventually and they can move in. If he killed her there (or worse, buried / disposed of her remains there), then he's stuck for life living on that property and even then they might eventually get enough to get a warrant to search.

A lot of people think the body has been destroyed, I suspect as much too. Though, part of me still suspects her buried her in the woods. Saying she went to "live in the woods" might have been an embedded confession, as killers often do. It's easier to lie when there's a little bit of truth in it. "I buried a box full of clothes" technically isn't a lie, if the body you buried had clothes on.

Of course, "your dog went to go live on a farm" is the generic, cliche lie you tell about killing a pet.

Long ago in this thread, several posters did research showing CCTV camera data gets wiped, usually, every 14 days. All of that sort of stuff is long gone. Time matters. That's why there's that expression, "The first 48 hours."
