US Jim Acosta Just Interviewed an AI Version of a Parkland Victim - AI-generated Joaquin Oliver, which was created by his parents, discussed gun control measures and movies in a new interview

The parents of Joaquin Oliver, one of the students killed in the 2018 Parkland high school shooting, have created an AI version of their late son, who partook in an interview with journalist Jim Acosta on Monday, Aug. 4.

The interview took place on what would have been Oliver’s 25th birthday. The conversation, which aired on Acosta’s Substack, found the journalist essentially talking with an animated photo of Oliver with moving lips and other small gestures. Oliver’s father, Manuel, said in an interview with Acosta that the AI model was trained on general information, as well as knowledge “based on things that [his son] wrote, he said, he posted.”

“This is a very legit Joaquin,” Manuel said.

The beginning of the interview found Acosta asking the AI Oliver questions about gun violence and how to curb it. “I believe in a mix of stronger gun control laws, mental health support, and community engagement,” the AI Oliver said. “We need to create safe spaces for conversations and connections, making everyone feels seen and heard. It’s about building a culture of kindness and understanding.”

The rest of the conversation was more casual, with Acosta speaking with the AI Oliver about basketball and movies like Star Wars and Remember the Titans. Afterward, Acosta spoke with Manuel about his decision to use AI to re-animate his son, and his plans for the project going forward.

“I understand that this is AI,” Manuel said. “I don’t want anyone to think that I am in, some way, trying to bring my son back. Sadly, I can’t, right? I wish I could. However, the technology is out there.”

Manuel said one reason he and his wife, Patricia, created the AI of their son was to hear his voice again. “Patricia will spend hours asking questions,” Manuel said. “Like any other mother, she loves to hear Joaquin saying, ‘I love you, mommy.’ And that’s important.”

The other reason, Manuel said, was to add Oliver’s voice to conversations about gun safety. “We can just raise the voices,” Manuel said. “Now, Joaquin is going to start having followers… He’s going to start uploading videos. This is just the beginning.”

The full AI version of Oliver debuted one year after artificial intelligence was used to recreate the voices of six victims of gun violence — including Oliver’s — for a gun control campaign called The Shotline. These AI-generated messages were posted online and also used for direct calls to lawmakers in Washington D.C.

Since his son’s death, Manuel has been an outspoken gun control advocate. In 2022, he interrupted a speech by then-president Joe Biden on the passage of a modest gun control law, which Manuel criticized for not going far enough to address the problem. The following year, he and Patricia were ejected from a Congressional hearing on the second amendment after exchanging words with lawmakers. Manuel also created and starred in a one-man show about his son that he performed around the country.

I wish we could have access to Joaquin Bot and force him to admit that he bullied Cruz and how he really feels about Niggers and Trannies.
His AI avatar will become the new face of the Parkland gun-grabber cult, after El Goblina proved to be too openly sociopathic.

The utter desperation to grab everyone's guns is such a blatant tell as to the intentions of the left. You just know if they did somehow, magically even, grab all the guns they'd start mass arrests and state enforced black bagging. The left is fucking terrified.
Honestly, I'm really glad to see such desperation from the antigun lobby, I don't think I've ever seen them in a weaker position in my life. This particular stunt is a total gamble, it's not only ghoulish but it also really lacks focus - who is this even for? Maybe the sort of boomers who hit the thumbs up on some of those garbage Facebook AI image pages, but how long do those sorts even have left on this earth? This is fucking weird uncanny valley bullshit to everybody else, outside of the graboids who want to disarm the American public by any means they can.

The "average gun owner" as the activist sees them... (or an "average male" as the DNC sees them) : a distorted funhouse-mirror caricature at this point due to the left's personal political orthodoxy being so extreme and so rigid? That when it fails to conform to reality? Reality itself is rejected.

Which is why they think gun owners or potential gun owners in this country are somehow, at the same time? A mix of bloody savage that would gun down children, or not care if one of "their kind" did, but, also, will turn their guns in immediately if you just pluck their heartstrings with ham-fisted morality theatre.....and just teach them not to rape, er, teach them not to have murder tools to go along with their murder urges.... It doesn't make sense, but that's because you and I are rational about the issue, and they are not.

After watching this "interview," it's not even that good of an AI rendering. It's just bare-bones lip syncing over a picture of him, and a horrifically AI voice that will change intonation randomly. It's especially noticeable when they star talking about Star Wars for some ungodly reason.
Ironically, Jesse's AI discussion with Lanza looks better and more realistic, even though I'm pretty sure it's just Jesse recording himself acting out the Lanza part and using AI to overlay Lanza's image over his recording.

It doesn't even matter if the murdered kid was pro gun control. He probably would be. Parading this digital corpse around won't change anyone's mind. But maybe the family is hoping that by doing this they'll get some fucking bags of cash, which I can't decide if that is better or worse than doing it for solely ideological reasons.

The left did more to arm the populace in 4 years than Republicans in the prior 30 years when they let the crazies off the leash and told the cops to not intervene. Why they thought it would work? I
Poor theory of mind. They assume that people would either act like them or how they think they should according to their beliefs.

Conservatives have the opportunity to do the funniest thing and interview an AI created aborted fetus.
"So what do you think of the Packers' odds in 2025?"
"Larry I tell you, they're lucky I'm aborted or I'd be at the GMs office every day tryna straighten his dumb ass out! Why the hell they gone and traded DeMarcus over a two percent salary increase??"

Elon should give Grok an Anne Frank 3d model and have it "faithfully" preach about banning trannies from sports and her well known historical opinion being pro US importing zillions of Indian immigrants. It'd be essentially the same thing as this.
Hopefully she writes her manifesto with a ball point pen.
