US Jim Acosta Just Interviewed an AI Version of a Parkland Victim - AI-generated Joaquin Oliver, which was created by his parents, discussed gun control measures and movies in a new interview

The parents of Joaquin Oliver, one of the students killed in the 2018 Parkland high school shooting, have created an AI version of their late son, who partook in an interview with journalist Jim Acosta on Monday, Aug. 4.

The interview took place on what would have been Oliver’s 25th birthday. The conversation, which aired on Acosta’s Substack, found the journalist essentially talking with an animated photo of Oliver with moving lips and other small gestures. Oliver’s father, Manuel, said in an interview with Acosta that the AI model was trained on general information, as well as knowledge “based on things that [his son] wrote, he said, he posted.”

“This is a very legit Joaquin,” Manuel said.

The beginning of the interview found Acosta asking the AI Oliver questions about gun violence and how to curb it. “I believe in a mix of stronger gun control laws, mental health support, and community engagement,” the AI Oliver said. “We need to create safe spaces for conversations and connections, making everyone feels seen and heard. It’s about building a culture of kindness and understanding.”

The rest of the conversation was more casual, with Acosta speaking with the AI Oliver about basketball and movies like Star Wars and Remember the Titans. Afterward, Acosta spoke with Manuel about his decision to use AI to re-animate his son, and his plans for the project going forward.

“I understand that this is AI,” Manuel said. “I don’t want anyone to think that I am in, some way, trying to bring my son back. Sadly, I can’t, right? I wish I could. However, the technology is out there.”

Manuel said one reason he and his wife, Patricia, created the AI of their son was to hear his voice again. “Patricia will spend hours asking questions,” Manuel said. “Like any other mother, she loves to hear Joaquin saying, ‘I love you, mommy.’ And that’s important.”

The other reason, Manuel said, was to add Oliver’s voice to conversations about gun safety. “We can just raise the voices,” Manuel said. “Now, Joaquin is going to start having followers… He’s going to start uploading videos. This is just the beginning.”

The full AI version of Oliver debuted one year after artificial intelligence was used to recreate the voices of six victims of gun violence — including Oliver’s — for a gun control campaign called The Shotline. These AI-generated messages were posted online and also used for direct calls to lawmakers in Washington D.C.

Since his son’s death, Manuel has been an outspoken gun control advocate. In 2022, he interrupted a speech by then-president Joe Biden on the passage of a modest gun control law, which Manuel criticized for not going far enough to address the problem. The following year, he and Patricia were ejected from a Congressional hearing on the second amendment after exchanging words with lawmakers. Manuel also created and starred in a one-man show about his son that he performed around the country.

This will be used as a legitimate form of persuasion for everything.
Fiction is already used as a legitimate form of persuasion for everything, AI just lets soyentists in on journo grift.
In 2013, I talked to a (jewish) LAWYER from LA, who tried to build an argument on a fiction book.

No, you invented the rapy. This faggotry has your DNA all over it like a five year old's underwear.

I honestly can't even muster up the slightest witty comment. This is just fucking sad. That one Black Mirror episode where the wife gets an AI husband that's supposed to be modeled after her late husband is looking very....realistic now.

Imagine the fucking implications if this shit becomes even more mainstream. The stories of people who have dead/missing children where they don't move a single thing in the room besides dusting and cleaning it getting access to this. It may seem "wholesome" to let the family talk to their dead child....if it was actually their fucking child and not some computer code imitating human speech like some skinwalker.

We have a world where men are sitting infront of screen talking to AI "girlfriends" who are actually just AI imitations of that one crush who rejected them years ago, and now this shit. Will there ever be a "line" people won't cross? (no lol)

I actually know someone who says he's a communist but he works in the most capitalistic industry in America. I'm not sure he realizes that the Marxist model of "pure communism" is not possible because we never get past the "dictatorship of the proletariat" part that just turns into a dark and twisted parody of the monarchy that it replaced.
I'm always reminded of the french revolution, where they deposed the monarch, Robespierre declared himself god emperor of mankind and in the span of a year procceded to execute about 20.000 people with an additional 10.000 dying in prison before they got sick of him and beheaded him too.

Leftist media pundits are stupid. Leftist legacy media pundits are outright retarded.
With any luck, some day they'll be relegated to interviewing AI exclusively once everyone's done talking to them.

While everyone grieves in a different manner, to pretend as if the deceased never left is unhealthy.

To parade the deceased as the sounding board of your politics is downright ghoulish.

tim and eric was funny but after they had a falling out it's obvious eric was the talented one. tim's post-2015 stuff by himself was also extremely funny but in hindsight i dont think he has an understanding of comedic timing he's just using it as a mask. when he goes on podcasts he's literally the exact same as the character he plays and has pretty much no self awareness about how the bits work or why they're funny, and if you don't play along he gets really really angry and indignant. which means that he isn't carefully constructing them to be funny he's just acting in a way that he has learned people will give him praise for and gets mad if you don't praise him for it.

the trial of tim heidecker was really really funny but it wasn't on the nose at all, and that was like 10 years ago. he has made basically nothing since then despite being probably top 3 most important people at turner but looking at his wikipedia he's just been on the D list hollywood life support dole doing voice acting for kid's movies. I think that says everything

I wish we could have access to Joaquin Bot and force him to admit that he bullied Cruz and how he really feels about Niggers and Trannies.

If that room isn't getting used for anything else would you suggest something different?
