If you want a working computer, stop trying to raise money to get a Mac (particularly one that has repeatedly been shown to be slow) and instead have someone competent fix your computer.

Joe doesn't want a functional machine so he can get back to work, he wants a shiny new toy to play with. Nothing wrong with that, but he's mistaken if he thinks other people are eager to foot the bill.

The "PC cleaning" industry is mostly snake-oil and people are trying to find a nice way to say you fell for a scam. And still are: your fears of malware and viruses are based upon the phony information that these scam "PC cleaners" claimed to find on your hard drive. Ten seconds on google would have confirmed this.
You're blaming the tool for your inability to hammer in the nail. That's why you've made $0 on your fundraiser.

I would've been jokey before but I'm dealing with someone else, honestly, kind of like you, so I'll be serious. And kind of wordy because I'm always ludicrously wordy, I guess.
You want cheap fixes? Okay...do you still have the OS CD that came with the PC? You might need to restore the OS. Make a backup of your hard drive if that's the case, or at least the files you want to keep. If it's not a hard drive issu, it might be the OS itself. I'm going off my Windows experience since Windows is all I have experience with.
Just because it's helped my old Dell laptop, about the only one of these PC cleanup guys I trust in any capacity is Auslogics. Only reason why is because I know their products work and one of their freebies has been a shot in the arm for mine: it's developed boot problems and I'm preparing to replace its hard drive, a three-year-old hard disc that's seen a lot of action, and maybe go digging around in the OS and see if I need to reinstall or repair it. In the meantime, the thing that's probably been keeping it booting up and shutting down smoothly is application of their registry cleaner, which was totally free. Their other applications cost money from what I know, but it's refreshing to see an actual PC tool rise out of the shitpile.
But don't take my word for it: you have to learn how to solve problems for yourself. Your Google-fu will fail you more times than you think; it's probably why you fell for the MyCleanPC bit. I guarantee-absolutely guarantee-you'll have to learn to just solve problems and do a lot of this work yourself, from figuring out how to make more space in your room to what's really eating your computer. The number one reason you're still here is because you haven't learned how to do that yet. Right now you're an easy mark, a sucker, and that's very bad for you. Holy shit, imagine if we were assholes. This shocking lack of autonomy on your part and then asking for help if we were weens or something would have gotten you a one way ticket to Virustown. It's your attitude: in the real world? You'd have been eaten alive, scammed to shit once you pulled one good idea out of your head because you'd fall for it so hard I'd be able to hear the thud over the Internet. An animator and any creative type thrives on perception; it's our best tool, the one that lets us make things we breath life into feel real. And you show all the awareness of your tools and perception of a garden slug on Vicodin.
I would've suggested investing in Blender (which is totally free) if you wanted a cheap-as-shit CGI modeling and animating solution, but I'll bite the bullet and ask just what you're planning to use in terms of resources anyway. My laptop is kind of over-specced because I use it for everything, including computer-aided design, and I deal with clutter myself because my room is small (and because I leave concept sketches all over my desk, what can you do) so I'm forced to use it for everything.

No one has told you to quit. We have been telling you to get a clue. That mac you want is a shit box and this is coming from someone who is generally an Apple fan. You haven't done proper troubleshooting on the system you currently have and no one is going to foot the bill for you when you're as clueless as you are. Where does all of your money go each month that strangers on the internet have to buy a new computer for you?

Joe is not an ideal DIY computer user. Whatever solution he needs will have to be something that works out of the box. That's why the mac is probably a really good pick for him (just not the part where someone else pays for it). Linux is right out because he'd be completely in the dark on how to use video editin tools on that side of things, and the first time a peripheral doesn't work, he'll be as lost as a blind dog in an ass factory.
Personally, I think Joe would be best suited to buy a new windows machine and stick with tools he's familiar with. It's probably the solution most compatible with Joe's disinclination to learn new concepts.

Wrong again, a windows PC would be a waiste of money. Plus quit saying I don't know my around Mac OS. Three good reasons why I need a Mac and it's the last thing I'm gonna say.
1. My brother uses a Mac(image 1)
2. My dad uses a Mac(image 2)
3. Neither one has ever had a virus.
