Hopefully if this does well, maybe it will convince them to animate 'Purple Haze Feedback'.
"There is nothing confirmed but he shared a cool story that when the newest Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan OVA was announced, there was a press conference with the Golden Wind Cast, and Fugo's voice actor was really confused that they weren't announcing Purple Haze Feedback, and said that he was totally available to do it whenever they want. I remember that Purple Haze Feedback is really beloved in Japan, so we might see it someday? Hopefully so, he looked really happy that some brought up the book!"
No, that is Jojolion's fault. Its currently my least favorite part because it seems to highlight all of Araki's worst writing habits. There is still Araki's amazing character work, environmental storytelling and how the characters naturally drive the story. Hell, its probably some of his best work in those aspects. But good lord the pacing is trash, Araki completely abandoned the initial mystery about sailor boys identity for an unsatisfying (and absolutely retconned) exposition dump, the stands are more inconsistent (and break their own prior established rules) than ever before, characters who were never established (or were unnamed background characters) keep appearing out of nowhere and there is this expectation we should know them intimately, the text bubbles are even more obnoxious than before with all the fucking text he shoves in there, and I have no fucking clue what he is doing with the cavalcade of fucking rock creatures.I swear if I see another FUCKING rock insect I'm going to flip. I dunno if this is what it was like following older Jojo parts as they came out, but Jojolion feels like it has serious pacing issues when read serially.
Araki writes Fanfiction basically, he helped with the PS4 game and liked it because it gave everyone a happy ending. So it isn't out of the realm of possibility, along with its popularity. It's a bit strange the Polnareff nendo didn't come out the same time as Jotaro or Kakyoin, but I'm not complaining.
As for Purple Haze Feedback, I'd imagine it's because while there were images drawn for the story by Araki, it's not considered 'canon', rather more like fanfiction. Same with Golden Heart, Golden Ring.
The rock humans are easily my least favorite Jojo antagonists, and IMO have the worst stands in the entire series, even worse than the Part 6 side villains. The only one who's memorable is Damo (the Vitamin C user), none of the other rock humans even felt like actual characters, it was Stardust Crusaders side-villains all over again except with shittier, more nonsensical stands. No, that is Jojolion's fault. Frankly, the story would have worked so much better if it focused on the internal power struggle within the Higashikata family and the way it relates to josuke's mysterious identity and the fruit of equal exchange. I thought that was what Araki was going for initially, but then the fucking rock people showed up out of nowhere and have muddled the entire storyline.
None of the rock people are interesting, there I said it. Interesting characters actively become less interesting when they are revealed to be rock people. I mean, this is going to end after all with Jobin as the final boss so I don't know why we had to bother with the Locacaca organization in the first place.
Regardless, this show should have definitely just kept to the Higashikata family internal power struggle, be it Jobin (who I think is more interesting than Kato) or Kato. I also think they may bring him back with the Rokakaka fruit, but that is more wishful thinking on my part. Maybe bring in a few outside stand users with an axe to grind or work as mercenaries or something like that. The rock humans are easily my least favorite Jojo antagonists, and IMO have the worst stands in the entire series, even worse than the Part 6 side villains. Also, I dunno if Jobin is gonna be the final boss, I think he's probably staying dead for good. If anything I think Kato might return for that role, being the one who's secretly orchestrating the Rokakaka trade from prison.
Part 6 is so weird to me. I love the main three characters, but it's the most bizarre part of them all in terms of tone and you'd think that'd make it the most interesting but something about it just doesn't click with me. I'm sure DP will help me appreciate it more though like they did with Part 5.I am honestly hyped for April for that Jojo anime event just so Part 6 can be announced and I hope DP can do it justice (really hope they condense the Punishment Ward fights cause holy shit I love Part 6 but that arc was terrible except for the Planet Waves fight and the final fight of it where FF dies)
Today is Leone Abbacchio's birthday! He'd be 41 today if he didn't get the donut treatment.
Despite Part 5 being objectively better in just about every way, I like Part 6 more purely because Jolyne is a top tier Jojo and Stone Free is a top tier MC stand, whereas Giorno is trash and Gold Experience is hand-wavy bullshit, even more so than other MC stands, because its ability is “creating an animal that is convenient for the situation”.Part 6 is so weird to me. Pucci is a bro. I enjoy that DIO actually has a friend that he considers his equal.Despite Part 5 being objectively better in just about every way, I like Part 6 more purely because Jolyne is a top tier Jojo and Stone Free is a top tier MC stand, whereas Giorno is trash and Gold Experience is hand-wavy bullshit, even more so than other MC stands, because its ability is “creating an animal that is convenient for the situation”.
Part 5 easily has the best side cast and the best villain cast, and probably the best stand fights of all the Jojo parts. It’s crazy how much Giorno and Diavolo drag down the part for me. While Pucci is kind of a lame villain as well, he at least has the hilarious motivation of making a baby with Dio’s “bone”.
also, I apologize if I’m repeating myself from earlier in the thread. I usually go into this schpeil when Part 5 vs. Part 6 gets brought up.
