McIntosh goes Full McIntosh on TotalBiscuit's death, wanting it to be about him as the victim.

I can believe he was at least a little elated at the death of TotalBiscuit. This is the same guy who said "good riddance" to the death of Christopher Hitchens.

Y'know Jonny, I kinda agree. We should accurately remember people's actions.

That's why people are reminding you you're a hypocritical piece of shit who refused to celebrate the death of a literal terrorist who killed and injured thousands, but dances on the grave of a man who wasn't on your side in an internet slapfight.

He's just being a contrarian attention whore. Jonathan will celebrate any e-celeb's death for (you)s.

Nah. Osama was brown and a Muslim, Hitchens was white and pro-Iraq War. In Johnny's worldview, being to the right wing of an issue completely negates the many years of work dissecting corruption in politics and studying the dangers of theocratic rule. Being a Muslim completely negates the killing and psychological scarring of thousands of innocent people.

Yup, one of them actually said it outright:

I'm not usually one to pathologize opposing political opinions, but in the case of these people you really do have to wonder what caused them to become so ridiculous. Just what is the psychology behind their need to display such masochism and lack of perspective to everyone they encounter? Do they genuinely believe on a conscious level that Christopher Hitchens and Gamergate are worse than Osama bin Laden and ISIS respectively, or is it simply a subconscious Pavlovian spasm resulting from their almost complete social isolation and detachment from the real world?

Whatever it is, psychologists need to come up with a name for this phenomenon. I recommend: Post-university numpty disorder.

I just call them entitled babies.

Most came from middle to upper class homes (McIntosh, for example, has a father who is some hotel mogul if I recall correctly) and were raised to believe that they were wonderful, magical children and lived in this mindset all the way through college. They don't care about anything other than themselves and any social issue they take on isn't because they actually care about it, but more the fact that it can put them into a better looking light. It's the same mentality some churches have, going to church once a week to grovel for an hour, maybe once a year so on a mission trip for a weekend, but the rest of the year being the same self-important jagoffs they always are.

Back on point, because of their lack of awareness other than their own selves and what appeases them, they are constantly outing themselves as myopic twits who NEED to put themselves first. They have no actual firsthand experience with terrorists, but because they have to deal with a bunch of nerds online calling them out, the nerds are obviously the more pressing matter. "Who the fuck cares about some brown people in the desert? These people are making fun of me!"

I think they don't *really* believe it, as in if you were able to get them to actually articulate a defence of that position rather than simply dismiss you, they would admit that no, Hitchens/GG aren't *actually* worse. But they think that kind of exaggeration for effect and hyperbole is fine when they do it, but something that should be demonised if someone does the same that they don't agree with. The usual 'it's alright when we do it' position of the SJW.

I may be wrong. In my experience, sometimes when you think someone's exaggerating wildly to make a point, it turns out they actually believe what they're saying, and as @_blank_ points out, something like GamerGate could be considered worse by them because it actually affected them personally, rather than the unwashed masses in foreign countries they only pretend to care about. But usually I've found that if you can get them to actually try and explain themselves rather than them just dismissing any and all criticism (which is a very common response), they'll admit they don't actually believe it, but, but, but but but ... and they twist themselves into a pretzel of logic where they essentially say 'they're not worse than ISIS but they're really just as bad in their own way if you think about it'.

Because to them, once you're 'a bad person', whether it be through mass murder or saying mean things on the internet, then you're sufficiently othered and those people can all be treated the same. Because they only think in black and white, holy and evil.

Now that today is the E3 2018 event, McIntosh is going Full McIntosh on gamers again.

And a bonus of Anita Sarkeesian complaining about E3's Twitch chat.
