An owner attended the meeting to request two approvals

1.Permission to install a lock box on the frame of their suite to allow emergency access due to health reasons. The strata felt that a lock box was particularly secure and would allow access to the suite if someone were to break-in to it. The council felt that a lock with numeric key pad would be much more secure. The owner agreed to investigate the feasibility of this and get back to the council.

2.Permission to install an automatic opener on the door to their suite. The council requested more information on the mechanism(s) involved and how this would be attached to the unit door which is common property.

The owner also requested that the council consider compensation on an elevator incident where the owner alleges that the elevator caused damage to a scooter and his person. Council were advised that they would be receiving a letter from the owner’s lawyer. The owner left at this point and the council discussed the issues above and will respond when they have received all the facts and sought legal advice.

I can't imagine the truckloads of patience the strata council must have to not loose their shit on him. In my experience, when a strata teams up and gets their back up at someone they can really make their life a pain in the ass. Hopefully people are watching him like a hawk for any rule violations; imagine how rewarding it would be for the strata to start issuing Jon and his creepy mother some fines.
