Vanity. There are plenty of people who would do it just for the ego boost because they think they are just getting "touched up" like models do. As if models need to competely rearrange their faces in order to look good instead of just getting a pimple airbrushed out or their eyes made brighter.

Still can't confirm with certainty but I was talking to someone from neighboring building saying they saw 3 RCMP + Miriam here yesterday. It's not a person I know personally but rather someone online. RCMP office is closed so we aren't going to know for sure until Monday.
