I’m not going to derail any more but being Jewish does not grant you Israeli citizenship, they can and do deny Israeli citizenship to Jews, esp when someone has a criminal record.

A non-Israeli Jew or an eligible descendant of a non-Israeli Jew needs to request approval to immigrate to Israel, a request which can be denied for a variety of reasons including (but not limited to) possession of a criminal record, currently infected with a contagious disease, or otherwise viewed as a threat to Israeli society.

I've never seen such amateurish style. Millennial criminals in the future will be easy to find with whiny or dumbass Instagram posts. Not much police work needed.

Do you happen to know anything about Miriam's sister - like, even the sister's first name? Miriam tosses her into the melee now and then, but we don't know anything about her. Did Miriam and Yitzhak marry in Israel before the emigrated? What kind of work did Yitzhak do? Don't feel squeezed - just wondering if you've observed the family enough to know. Thanks.

Good to know. The BCHRT website makes it seem like only the parties to the case can get the recordings. Do you know how to go about getting the recordings for real? If there are fees, I think we humble kiwis will cover them just to get the full information archived publicly.

What @Goinglikeelsie tweeted from that hearing was that Yaniv said he had had two strokes during the morning session. His mother was chimping around and ended up with EMTs on the scene who entered the hearing room, talked to Yaniv, and left. He lasted out the rest of the hearing without any sort of observable problem.

That evening, Yaniv tweeted that he hadn't had strokes, it had been something else, and then a day or two later said he'd had seizures during the morning of the hearing. So far, he hasn't said anything about cardio problems - and that's surprised me. It's ideal for his dramas.

Random comment on fleeing to Israel
In one of his mopey FB videos, Yaniv started to say something negative about "family overseas" and stopped right after saying those words. He'd been talking about how misunderstood he is. I assumed the Israeli branches of the family had gotten in touch because of the shonda. Every time someone Googles the name Yaniv now, what they get is Jonathan's grotesque antics and not the academic Yanivs or the medical Yanivs. The Altmans may be just as chagrined.

Either that, or Jonathan had hoped to go live with them, shed his notoriety, and find a fresh crop of pre-teen girls to lech after and got a firm rebuff from the uncles and aunts and cousins who don't have a spare room for him and his tiara.

He's stopped Miriam from saying things in the hearings that relate to the Jewish community. I assumed at first it was because he didn't want to set up an equivalence - Sikh v Jew - that showed him trying to enforce his religious beliefs on the people he was accusing of enforcing their religious beliefs on him. But now I wonder if he's worried that mamma's prattling lead to the Family Overseas being even more unwelcoming.

I'm working on organizing all of the JY content from the tribunals right now and need a little help. Was there any audio or visual recordings of the hearings apart from the 16th and the 17th? The videos of JY in the pink shirt have the date "2019/7/18" on them but that is incorrect, they are from the 17th.

If Jonathan wanted to go full Shalom and flee to Israel he could do that, but I do believe he’s young enough to have to do his military service over there.

I can’t imagine that happening, or for that matter Mama Miriam being alright with it. (“But his health! His strokes! You’ll kill him, oy vey!”)

I tried to clean up the audio recordings from the hearings using the Audacity program. Might be a little easier to listen to with the background noise reduced and the vocals boosted.

I’ve found some more Yaniv apologists on reddit. It does seem like any thread has sane people who know JY is full of shit.
The source that OP linked is generally very biased against trans people. The usage of "trans activist" tends to be a transphobic dog whistle. The article itself links to a transphobic "satire" twitter account, in which they vaguely misgender her and are generally just transphobic and horrible. I've been having a lot of trouble finding news sources about this case that aren't massively transphobic and biased, as most of them are from reactionary/conservative groups. This feels like the "Gay wedding cake" controversy all over again.

He'd potentially qualify for a non-combatant role as per their Medical Profile list (via Wikipedia):
64: A serious problem (asthma, low BMI, high blood pressure). Unfit for combat.
45: A very serious problem (severe asthma, severe orthopedic problems, severe mental status). Unfit for combat service and many military courses.
35: A special profile for people with diabetes, the hearing impaired and people with epilepsy. Able to serve in various roles with certain limitations due to their medical condition.
