No you're right. That's what I was saying. You're allowed a certain amount of savings and you are allowed to own a home BUT the amount in savings you are allowed is not nearly enough to put a down payment on a condo, never mind the absurd idea of anyone giving you a mortgage when you're on social assistance. So if he's getting assistance, it would've been started after he already owned his condo.
What if it's not Jon, but his mother who owns both of the condos and allows him to potato in one of them? That way, he'll be eligible for disability, since he doesn't make money, nor does he own a vehicle.

Always interesting to see how other countries systems work. Surprised to hear that being on welfare forces a house sale.

In the UK you have access to certain disability benefits even if you work full time and/or own property. These benefits are not taken into account when applying for other income-related benefits you may be entitled to. Open to abuse over the years? yeah but the Govt is cracking down on fraudsters and making the eligibility criteria a lot tougher which is hard for the genuine claimants.
In my province, you have to lose all your assets. You have to be fucking destitute but I will admit my province is pretty draconian in this way. Disability is different though and you get a lot more leeway.

Oh yeah, this is possible. Tons of ways for mommy to give his special little boy everything he needs. But if he's receiving cash from her that's income and he has to report it. They will then reduce his payments by some amount depending on the rules of that province. If he doesn't report, that's fraud.

But someone has to pay the mortgage on that condo and the housing portion of his cheque is laughably not going to cover it alone. I still think it's unlikely that he has a disability that makes him eligible though. Usually the provinces follow the federal pension plan guidelines for disability. You have to have a disability that is expected to be long term: like over a year and that makes you entirely unable to work. It's difficult to get on disability. Just having no job and being a loser aspie isn't enough

We already see him committing welfare fraud with the munchie equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if he commits tax fraud as well.

Bloody hell that's harsh. Being penalised through no fault of your own if, for example, you lost your job.

According to him, under BCHRT oath, he asked about claiming loss of earnings (3 figure sum per day, allegedly).

If you simply lose your job you would apply for EI (employment insurance) which you totally would do because it's based on your previous income so it's way more than welfare would give you. Welfare is for the unemployable. It's meant to be a short term thing that only covers you if nothing else does for some reason so they really want you to not have it.

Johnny is probably feeling invincible after hitting that "reporter" with his cane and not getting arrested for it. I have a feeling the cane may be here to stay.

Particularly since it's easier to lift than his little sped scooter and won't roll away if he gets distracted.

That's how every potato I know in the states gets benefits. Their MOM.

One got out of San Quentin. Ran a cop over in his truck while drunk, second striker. He's 62. Never worked a regular job in his life. Mom welcomed him back, the state paid for his hip surgery. Even though Mom's sitting on not only now a $2.3M fam home but about $3M in rentals.

A couple others, same grift. They might sell pot on the side (though it's less profitable where it's legal and they won't bother with anything legit even if it is in the pot business) but basically get untraceable ma money they invest at 55 in what they would have at 15. Cocaine, fishing boats, hot rods they'll never fix.

That changes when mommy dies. Other sibs are usually involved in selling the house for their share, and Peter Pan either blows through his $175K and goes homeless, or gets NA and a real job.

"Unconditional" mommy love ruins lives when extended beyond 18.

I would watch the shit out of this movie. "Throw Momma From The Claim."

Anne Ramsey (RIP) and Danny DeVito could have pulled off really good renditions of Miriam and Jonathan - they'd just trade off the cane and DeVito would need special hulking shoes to loom over her. Does Billy Crystal play the Agent/Producer? Or Morgane Oger?

Blaire White, playing it like an LA real estate agent.

I wonder what somebody in this situation would or should do when filling out job apps. Just put in bold immediately after your name "Please make sure you aren't confusing me with the world notorious pedophile"?
Marc Dutroux, look them up, after how much of a murderpedo he was found out to be as well as the sketchiness of the police response, alot of belgians changed their surnames.

They might be generating income another way. We dont know how much they inherited when Yitzhak died. They could have bought a third condo and rented it out. In a condo where presumably you get in-suite laundry and dishwasher and maybe access to a gym, rent can easily be somewhere between 1200 to 1800 monthly. Even higher if downtown Vancouver; 2000 to 3000.

Would hate to be their tenant though.
I've a mate in BC who is legit crippled through a work related accident. It was seriously hard for them to get their tugboat, but they got there in the end. Amount of hoops they had to jump through was insane though

Edited cos grammar, innit?

Oh look. That Klondike Mark Taylor guy trying to get asspats off of Blaire and promising that really all shit will break loose on Monday. I mean, who is this guy, he sells these MMA/WWF whatever shirts from 2013 but did he ever get paid to appear? Even once?

ETA, someone's butthurt about the five-year delay on Brianna Wu, sperging about "Mundane Matt." I don't speak Gamergatese but to anyone that does, does this make sense? @Yellow Yam Scam ?

I hestitate to even screenshot this because it's only funny to people who know GamerGate/IBS/Alt-Lite culture, but The Legend Of Maku has pulled the ultimate name drop: MUNDANEMATT. You know a guy's credibility is rock-solid when MundaneMatt uses him for content.

SWIM (literally not me) got pissed off and dropped this archive about Gamergate rage that Mark wrote. I will admit that it's a nice primer for those who weren't involved/invested.

There are a number of ways Yaniv could have a tugboat, in my opinion. I'm not an expert on these topics, but this is what I do know of - happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. Don't think I've seen this info posted yet:

Disability (CPP):
In Canada, there is 'disability' through CPP (Canada Pension Plan). CPP is mandatory for any employed Canadian to pay into, which goes towards your CPP (at old age). However, if you become permanently disabled/terminal, you are allowed to cash out early so to speak, by way of getting a monthly pension. It's not a lot, and it's a LENGTHY process (from what I hear 6 months or more) that requires a LOT of paperwork, medical opinion to support your claim, etc. BUT it's a lifelong payment. It's based on what you have paid into the system to date (an employed middle aged single person in mid-late 30s thats worked full time since 18 would likely have a monthly payment of approximately $1100-ish). You get more with each dependent. I don't know for certain, but my guess is your assets have zero bearing on your qualification. Could he have achieved this status? Possibly. It's a hurdle, but with the amount of bitching and whining he does, I could see a doctor signing off on his shit just to get him out of the office.

Welfare (PWD):
Then there is something else which can also be considered disability. It's basically welfare, but with an added 'PWD' designation (personal with disability). The PWD designation provides for a bit more money than regular welfare (I *think* it's approximately $1200 a month for a single person). This disability is administered through the province of BC, and offers the bells and whistles (such as mobility scooters, canes, transit passes, monthly health care premium waived). It's not as difficult to get on by a long shot, and once you are in the system, obtaining those freebies is not too hard. Is he on this? ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY. In my opinion. You can have a decent amount of money/assets in the bank and still be eligible.

I've heard that you can be on both CPP disability AND welfare as PWD, but I'm not sure. If that's the case, you could make a reaaaaaaal nice income for youself. EDIT. It appears if you are getting CPP disability, you can get PWD (if the amount you are getting from CPP is below the PWD provincial minimum). So yeah, you can game both systems, but it sounds like you'd max out at about 1200/month-ish for a single. Ballpark.

There is another option he could have tried to take advantage of as well, and that's WCB (Workers Compensation Board). I haven't seen any evidence of this, but there are people that will fake disabilities/injuries resulting from workplace accidents/environments and can score big settlements. I'm not too sure of the complexity of gaming this system, but if anyone would know how, it's him.

Yeah, I saw this when I was archiving his stuff. Basically he made all these weird claims about how Brianna Wu was going to get sued ("Both criminal and civil" ???) and that the news would drop on Friday. Friday came around and he posted that bizarre screed, claiming his goal with the Wu accusation was to teach GamerGate supporters a lesson about believing the media ("It was my plan all along!") He also pulled a similar move later, accusing notorious wannabe dogfucker/taxcheat Sarah Butts of sexual harassing a family member of his, never providing any evidence.

This dude is so close to being just a generic listless libertarian White Dude but as soon as I throw in the towel on looking into him, something else strange will pop up. I'm honestly hoping he does something real, real stupid re: Yaniv to actually legitimize making a thread, but as of now it's all kind of lowgrade lolcalf milk.
