Well tbh if you asked me as soon as I posted this I wouldn't have been able to tell you. It just feels wrong on some level. But now I've thought about it a minute I know. It's because at any other time, radical feminists™ (radical feminists on twitter and r/GC: The Cult, I mean) really do not like lesbians and treat them very poorly.

They love lesbians when they can be used as cudgels to beat thier opponents in the troon war with: "Oh those poor lesbians being harmed by trans ideology. All the detransitioners blah blah blah" but at any other time it's all, "lesbians are privileged because they don't have to date men." I've also heard more than once statements to the effect of "trans men should be sterilized". That statement is why people criticise Posey Parker, btw.

I feel like Magdalen is a popular figure because she made excellent YouTube videos but they don't really give a fuck about lesbian issues in general so it feels disingenuous that some are using her image as their profile pic. Makes me think the only reason is to stick it to Rhys tbh. The only reason they care about lesbians any other time is to stick it to mtfs why would this be any different?

So she's dying. Maybe have some respect. Like real, actual respect, not that fake woke kind you put on for virtue signalling.

I heart Berns, fair warning. She doesn't jump on any bandwagons. I don't know all of the people using her image as an avatar, but the ones I do, it's out of sincere admiration and appreciation for everything Magdalen has done and stood for. Some of them might have started out dumb on lesbian issues, MB made them smarter. A large number of them ARE lesbians though.

I don't like the idea of using her photo this way for myself, but I have weird hangups about death and memorials. It's also confusing to read threads, and the ladies using it really didn't need to give MORE of a message that they are a hive mind.

Oh, he's already played the suicide card endlessly, boasting of making 10-14 attempts in just a 2-month time span, KF post, 5/26/19. See the spoiler for more Save Me Save Me drama.
  • involuntary trip to hospital but says he never threatened to jump off that bridge - no info on what brought the authorities into the picture, 5/18/2019
  • 5/22 and 5/23/19, ambulance trips to the ER, suicidal emoting on 5/21 and 5/23 - released only a few hours later and posted happily about counseling a girl in a public restroom on 5/22 and posted pic of himself in his tiara eating at Tim Horton's; tweeted "Yeah.. twice in the ER dept of the hospital in 4 days, one OD and failed suicide... another suicide attempt." (KF post)
  • attempted suicide at least 10-14 times since March and the RCMP came each time, according to a tweet on 5/26/19, also tweeted that the Saxenda OD was deliberate and intended to be fatal (KF post) and repeats that assertion (KF post, 5/28/19)
  • tweets that he made suicide threats to two people at BCHRT "multiple times" while they were considering his complaints re: getting his male genitals waxed; identifies thoses officials Daniel Varnals and Devyn Cousineau (KF post, see the spoiler in it)

His last "suicide" binge threats occurred right before Devyn issued the LaserCut warning that exonerated that salon, told Jon to pay $150 and warned him to quit withdrawing complaints as soon as a respondent got a lawyer. His racism against Mr. Randhawa (LaserCut's private lawyer), accounted for a lot of why Devyn said she was angry at him in that 5/30 ruling.

Now he possibly faces being brought before the BCHRT himself by juxtaposing himself next to someone just minding their own biz and making fun of their race/religion. If this materializes, expect more suicide performances such as telling EMTs he injected too much insulin (probably the top possibility) or accident-seeking behavior along with health scares that incent Mama Yaniv to draw even closer to him.

I think for a lot of people, using her photo is a way of coping, not just because she's dying and at such a young age, but because cyclepath and others are publicly rejoicing about it. Perhaps it's like grieving but being encircled by people attacking at the same time. The shared avatars may feel like a kind of protection.

@SourDiesel's post was extremely insightful in explaining why some lesbians might see this as a form of appropriation. Straight women DO muse that not being attracted to men could be "liberating" in the hypothetical, and her post really made me see how patronizing that can come off.

That said, I think a substantial number using MB's avatar aren't using it in that way. Like Glinner, a lot are using it to honor a woman who is an early and vocal advocate of gender-critical feminism and of late including JY, and that's what sticks out to them, same as what would happen if Gallus Mag (a lesbian) or Meghan Murphy (a heterosexual) had something like this happen to them.

It's not so much the avis that bug me as are those speaking of her suggesting the past tense like a eulogy. I understand her death will come soon, but until she has died, she is still living.

Personally, I don't know anyone who thinks this is going on. I think everyone is genuinely heartbroken, and it's only appreciated that straight women are also sad. But the rejoicing of the heartless trans idiots just makes it worse.
