Joss Whedon accused of being Joss Whedon - Cyborg actor accuses him of “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” behavior on the set of JUSTice League and accuses a couple of higher-ups of covering for him

“Welcome to the Internet Hate Club, Joss. You’ll get used to it eventually.”

But seriously, Whedon has to regret doing this interview. Just a complete litany of people talking about how unpleasant it is to work with Whedon and Whedon saying his problem was he was too nice. Fucking classic.
No I was talking about has Adam discuss what a asshole Whedon is?

Has anyone from Firefly said anything? Or from The Avengers?
iirc the only thing that's come up since all this shit came to light was people recalling Elizabeth Olsen saying there was no way she'd do an original, titty-emphasizing Scarlet Witch costume while he was captain of the Marvel ship, only to then gleefully do so when Wandavision came on. While it's not solid evidence of anything, there's speculation she simply didn't want to be sexualized around Joss specifically.

Can't blame her. Whedon's a fucking pig? And she could probably tell that his whole "male feminist" was just a act and was a major creep.
All of them still have careers so there's no upside to them getting involved. Except Adam Baldwin maybe, but he's unlikely to join in a metoo pile-on because of the political optics of it.
Didn't David Boreanaz come out? And he still has a active career?

On a late night show, Olsen said that she had a meeting with Whedon in which he told her that he was interested in casting her as Scarlet Witch. He said that if she were to Google the character and see what she was wearing, that Olsen wouldn’t have to worry about wearing such an outfit because he (Whedon) would never put her in it. Olsen went on to complain about the outfit she wore in Infinity War because she felt it showed too much cleavage, but Whedon was already out of the Marvel scene by then

Now if you were pregnant..... that would be a different story.

Also noting to do with Whedon. What clevege? I didn't notice anything in Infinity War? I thought her outfit was very modest. Unless I'm remembering wrong?

To be fair that's like every male writer ever? Either that or she's a "perfect daughter".

I mean, female writers write about their husbandos and gay sons. Anyway, yeah Buffy's Whedon's self-insert, get over it, feminists.

Aww yeah, anonymous sources cited in the article - let's play everyone's favourite game of "fuck this journo" and name them!

"But chosen families are not necessarily spared the strife that can plague any family. “I felt very conflicted with the fans,” one Buffy actress told me. “I didn’t have the same feeling about the show, but I also know sometimes people don’t want your truth.” She believed people hadn’t been ready to hear about what Whedon was really like on the set. “There was a cult of silence around that sort of behavior,” she said."

Sounds most like either SMG or Hannigan to me - Trachtenburg can't string a sentence together without using emojis like some kind of brain-damaged zoomer, Carpenter is widely documented as having spoken out about it, Felicia Day and Eliza Dushku are too compromised so never would and that only leaves Amber Benson, considering her entire career before and since was a whole heap of nothing, it seems unlikely.

"A sort of cult of personality formed around Whedon. Once a month, he would invite his favorite cast and crew members to his house. They would hold Shakespeare readings in the amphitheater that Cole, an architect, had built in their backyard. “It was like being part of this little family,” said an actress who was in the inner circle for a time"

That's got to be Amy Acker, due to how many Whedon projects she's been involved in.

"As for Whedon’s claim that he doesn’t threaten people, an actress on Angel told me that hadn’t been true back when she knew him. After her agent pushed for her to get a raise, she claims Whedon called her at home and said she was “never going to work for him, or 20th Century Fox, again.” Reading Gadot’s quote, she thought, “Wow, he’s still using that line.” (Whedon denied this too.)"

My money's on Elisabeth Röhm - goes from being a main character in S1 of Angel to completely written out and spends the next 4 years in the Law & Order ghetto.

TL;DR, journos can't protect their 'sources' for shit.

I forgot Elsabeth Rohm was even in Angel. But your right this Journalist is shit at their job. I think are your guesses are most likely right

One of the things that Whedon fanboys did for years was blame everyone else whenever one of his projects flopped. It was Fox’s fault that Firefly got canceled because they put it on a bad night and ran it out of order. Alien Resurrection sucked because the director didn’t understand Whedon’s script because he couldn’t speak English. And now Whedon is blaming everybody else and even blaming Gadot’s no speaka da Engleesh. Whedon grew the fan base he deserves

I forgot about Lockley. Probably because Angel is in a perpetual identity crisis and has no idea what it wants to be.

Lockley got some good lines, though.🔥🔥
"Why should I listen to anything you say? I despise you. You, and everything you represent. And when I say 'represent' and 'thing', I do mean your clients."

I was a massive Angel sperg when I was younger (the show landed at exactly the right time in my life to become obsessed with it) and according to the DVD commentaries, that was a completely intentional choice to keep things fresh - how one week it's noir-esque, and the next it's a goofy comedy episode (even though the puppet one shits on every other episode by simply doing it right). In retrospect, that sounds like attempting to justify an inability to keep a consistent tone throughout a season.

The commentary tracks with Adam Baldwin on S5 are very interesting to listen to now - there's a whole section where he says something along the lines of that he has Liberal friends he disagrees with and they have a mutual understanding of "wrong, not evil" in regards to their viewpoints. I suspect that no longer holds true.

Some cross-pollination with Firefly: Summer had a part in S3. Then, when Firefly got cancelled, Gina migrated over to Angel, followed by Adam.

They're playing against type, for the most part, which is smart. Having Buffy (and her cronies) visit shows a lack of independence.

I'm so glad we're moving away "Joss Whedon invented feminism."
This was unironically a book:

I almost feel sorry for Anita Sarkeesian-level feminists. Imagine spending a decade of your life worshipping a hack with a fetish for teenage girls?

Okay, no I actually don't, they should have known better. Remember his X-men run where Emma Frost was constantly slut shamed just so a modest-yet-still-hot Kitty Pryde could look better? Whedon always hated actually strong women who know who they are and are in ccontrol of their bodies. "Mommy issues", I guess? This is why he hated Wonder Woman and needed a joke about her being sexually assaulted just so she would know her place.
