What really irks me about his work is that he doesn't try to make the game his own. Instead of making his own graphics, he cobbled together whatever images he could find on Google Images and The Spriters' Resource. Instead of making his own music, he took other people's music and raised the tempo with Audacity.I'm honestly not sure at this point. All I know is that he can't design worth crap. I've dabbled in game design before and I'm attempting to get back into it. And I have to say, it's not as easy as it looks. It takes time to really make a polished game from start to finish. It's not just about slapping assets together, programming physics and controls in and calling it a day. It has to look nice, if not decent at best, the music should be at be best listenable, and the controls need to be responsive. And as we all know, his game fails on all of those.
Even if he put only original materials in the game and it ended up looking bad, he would have learned a little on how to do things on his own. By using other people's content, he is limiting himself and preventing himself from improving. The main thing stopping Jotex from improving is him acting like he's already the best and can continue his methods forever.
