This is why it's so hard to figure out what's bullshit and what isn't: Phil is a perpetually a liar, but not a profound one, because he's too stupid to pull that off, yet, at times, especially when there's blame to project, and it winds up on the other person who (allegedly) lives there, it still manages to look like he made something up, since even he can come up with the simplest, littlest things, like someone else allegedly unhooking a cable.
But then you have moments like that, where Phil didn't even think to check any cables. If he's dumb enough to make that mistake, it's hard to picture him knowing to blame that, to cover up something else, like him simply not finishing up his Champions playing on time, or whatever.

It just happened to take all weekend for someone to come out and plug something back into the wall. I think it was a fig leaf to disappear for the weekend. Checking plugs is literally the first thing you do when an electronic stops working.

But why, though, if that was the case? All Phil had to do was just say he was taking some personal time. We would've been suspicious anyway, sure, but that's entirely because of Phil never doing any such thing. He always reaches for a lie to cover up what he's really doing, when he didn't even have to.
It's why I'm sure being dishonest is as much a tic for him as the rocking and t-posing is. He does it for no reason just as often as he does it for stupid/childish reasons.

It absolved him of responsibility. Golly, guys, nothing he could do because his interwebs weren't working! Notice in his tweet that he blames the customer service person on the phone for not telling him to do the most basic shit that he should have done on his own. He got to do what he considers a vacation, and he still kept a victim narrative to recoup the money spent.

In fact I would be so bold as to state that Phil understands them about as well as he understands the art of budgeting money, and isn't applying any moves when he does shit, he's just being Phil, completely oblivious to why the retards are loyal. There's no 5-D chess game going here, Phil doesn't even know what game he's playing, or who he's up against.

Phil has always been against saying he takes personal time off because it ruins his victim narrative. If he takes personal time off, that implies he's not in financial ruin because his bills are due for the 27th time in the same month. He's a "blue collar" worker, who doesn't have the luxury of taking personal time. Just like how he can't go out to see movies or the zoo or whatever, because he's always working. But maybe if his paypigs tip him enough, just once, he might be able to get some kind of luxury from his work week, which is normally 80+ hours.
But you're right about Phil not understanding them. Whether or not he realizes it, he's so attached to the victim narrative he can't do anything else. He has to be Phil the martyr, going out of his way to do what his fans want/put out quality content for them. In reality, Phil could say he's taking a week off and needs double the donations from his paypigs to make up for the time and they'd gladly hoof it out. I think there were some back in the day that were snapped out of their hypnosis when they realized Phil's lies, but Phil chased them all away and now all he has are his regulars who are too deep to stop supporting.

He MUST be lying about his finances! I'm out of here!" Phil has fucked his own narrative harder than that already and it hasn't cost him enough in tips for him to stop doing the things that fuck his narrative. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying he is, and that he's displaying prominently that he doesn't know his own audience.
Because seriously, how shocked would we be if Phil went against tradition like that, and the retards left him over it? Not even all of them, just a couple of regular paypigs and one whale. We wouldn't believe our eyes, and rightfully so. The bank leaks were WAY bigger than a personal day taken, or any number of them honestly, but still he is on track for another six figure year. He can't possibly be aware here if he doesn't grasp what that means.
The fact that he does the aforementioned and THAT goes a long ways towards demonstrating even further that no matter how much we can ascribe to idiocy, the pigroach is still just as much of a liar. What makes it worse is that Phil is oblivious to the connection, most likely, between lying about what can happen if the retards give enough, and the fact that he has no intention of taking time off, no matter what they give, out of fear of losing the narrative. He clearly goes from moment to moment, remembering little to nothing, and lies about both things simply because that's what he does.
He SHOULD know that, too, because he has technically done it already, had time off that was forced on him by outside forces, and demanded compensation from people who had nothing to do with it. Also been a time or two when he tried to extract extra tips leveraging his regularly scheduled day off. Don't recall if he got them, but he probably did.
Phil is really going to regret running his whole life like this.

I hadn't actually noticed, mostly because, back then, he seemed full of shit there too, because of the stuff that didn't make sense, like the option of her grabbing stuff while she's at work was nonexistent for no fucking reason. Basically, he made himself look alone then just as he does now. It's just more obvious these days.
There's also the fact that Phil is lazy and unimaginative, and that only gets worse over time, so it's possible that he just got tired of exerting what little effort he did into making it appear that he had a relationship with his roommate, and/or ran out of ideas for helping sell it. I'm not 100% convinced this is the case, just can't ignore the likelihood being way above 0.
Lastly, there's his mood. It's hard to picture him so well handling a situation where Katherine has put him on notice that they're not doing anything together, ever again. Yes, Phil has been full of rage for awhile, but he has had other reasons. You add "mad about Katherine" onto the pile, and you surely get more toxicity than there has been lately, because, among other things, he's pissed enough about the lack of a new vest streak as it is.
So I find the most likely scenario is her having checked out a long time ago and him still being in huge denial over it. It's the only logical explanation as to how he has managed to keep his mood from overwhelming his desire to not say what he really wants to, because we know how he has been with out that lately on other topics, like us Farmers. He really shouldn't be calling us out like that, but his anger is clouding his judgment. I would expect Katherine to be far more triggering for him than we are.
Then again, Phil's cowardice is a factor, and so it may also be that certain things he just doesn't fear ranting about so much, even though he should.

I'm leaning towards this direction as well. The stories tend to involve Khet just staring blankly after something happens, I think that's because Phil is such a bad liar/storyteller he can't think of what someone would do in those situations. He then switches the focus to him coming in and saving the day to boost his own ego, as if turning off a garbage disposal or wiping off sour cream is a huge accomplishment only someone with an enlightened brain could pull off. Anyone else would just sit there staring blankly, unable to comprehend how to fix the problem.
The only reason I'm not 100% on it is Khet's stream appearance, where she definitely came off as pretty slow/sluggish. But that might be a result of not wanting to be there.

Yeah, it fits right in line with Phil's lack of creativity, lack of awareness of how he makes things look, need to toss the fuck-up onto someone else, need to feel clever, and lack of caring about anyone but himself. All of his other bullshit stories tick those boxes, too, and there's going to be a reason.
Her lack of presence ever since quitting the streams makes it pretty obvious that much of what we witnessed was from not having a lot of interest to begin with. Given that she used to stream by herself just fine, I have to assume that at some point during those few appearances she realized she had just shacked up with a lying retard and has been embarrassed about it ever since. I do think Phil made her scrub her online presence, but not in the way others put it. It only makes sense that Katherine would've done it on her own, and that the pigroach she married had no say because he's a pussy, and he clearly didn't warn her about the autism vortex. He was NOT thinking about the effect that being associated with him was going to have on Katherine's well-being in the least, he never fucking does. Not to mention, she talked about stuff that poked holes in his "I don't make much money" narrative, so he didn't inform her about that, either, even though you would think he would.
Not saying she's brilliant, just that she's less dumb than Phil needs her to be, else it would be a lot more obvious that she still lives there and is happily married to him.
