Also unless we think it was Phil's mom vacuuming in the background that one time, someone is there.
That's the kind of thing I'm talking about, if Katherine weren't making such a concerted effort, we would have more than just some noises that, given the context of the DSP universe, can be explained by assuming that Phil is hiding something that normal people wouldn't.
And that part is really important, James Rolfe's wife never appears in videos, but given the context of his past, I have no reason to be suspicious that she moved out without divorcing him and now he has his mom there. That's just not a Rolfe thing. But Phil would totally lose his wife and refuse to be honest about it. As well as have his parents over for Thanksgiving and lie about it, probably from Katherine not being a part of the festivities.
Based on what evidence?
Not that I believe they didn't, but isn't there as much evidence that he and Kat sit around gorging DoorDash and playing gacha/Skyrim on the couch as there is he and Leanna spent time together off-camera?
Perhaps not solid evidence, but when you look at them together on camera before things started to sour, they didn't look like them being a couple was just for show, that they slept in separate bedrooms and whatnot. I wasn't around, but I also don't imagine Phil was constantly having to make up shit about the time they spend together, because what reason did he have to do that back then? Especially before the relationship started falling apart.
Also, a lot of what Phil filmed, looked like stuff they were going to do anyway, and his mind went to monetizing it because of course it did. I believe Rambo and Howard talked before about how they were taken aback by how much Phil tried to film everything they did. He just doesn't seem capable of handling a real plan on anything, I mean Project 7 was planned out and look how that ended. It's too adult for him, I guess.
In any event, it also shows another reason they're so good together. As far as we know, Khet was satisfied with the fast food offering. I can't imagine Leanna (or really, anyone else) reacting so well to that. Especially when you compare how big of a deal Phil makes his birthday at the gout mansion.
Thing is, the upside to having a partner who's vocal is that you don't have to try going out of your way to stop the speculation of them being gone. No one thought that of Leanna until a certain point, right? I cannot see a situation wherein Phil is okay with having to make shit up about having a soulmate he's married to living with him because she won't even consent to a picture that shuts everybody up. We're talking about the guy who won't admit to using guides and gets really pissy about the accusations despite constantly feeding into them.
I don't think Phil wants to spend a lot of quality time with Katherine, but I do think he's very dissatisfied with the level of effectiveness in selling his LARP, that he's locked at, because she won't cooperate with him. He just isn't based enough in general for me to believe otherwise, especially when he gets testy with people over the inquiries he doesn't have good answers to.
