I think one of the issues with Phil is that he's one of the most repetitive cows out there and for many, his repetition becomes boring. But Phil is also one of the most active cows, and many of the big detractors feel the need to keep covering him. In reality, there's not that much to say. You could take a rant from a few years ago when Phil was playing Streetfighter 2 and compare it to his recent Streetfighter streams, just swap out the names and it's more or less the same thing.
I think that makes people a lot more prone to tinfoil hat theories and creating their own little pigfic about what's going on with Phil. IMO, Phil is probably just as boring off camera as he is on stream. Heck, he's probably even more boring because at least on stream he's ranting about dumbass shit, off stream, he's probably just quietly fuming to himself while playing on his phone and nervously glancing out the window before waddling to the front door to retrieve his 5th Doordash order of the day.
Khet seems to be the most popular subject for pigfic because, well, she's basically the only other character to write about due to Phil's hermit lifestyle. And I get it, I've said it before that I wish there was something funny going on there and I'll gladly take the L if something legitimately comes out about her. But the reality is, she's just as dull and boring as Phil. Maybe even more so. I won't pretend I'm not curious about their relationship, but it's largely just to confirm that it's as boring as I imagine it to be. As much as we want there to be *something* going on to change things up, the reality is, there's probably not. It's potentially subject to change, but it would take a rather drastic shift in Phil's life that might happen sometime down the line, but not in the foreseeable future, no matter how much we want a new arc.
IMO, the best way to enjoy Phil is embrace the repetition. He's like the 90's sitcoms of cows. You more or less know exactly what's going to happen when you sit down for an episode, you know there's a minimal chance of any big changes to the story and sometimes you can't even tell if you're watching a new episode or a repeat. But it's still entertaining just to see the goofy antics, even if they are incredibly repetitive and predictable. I always like to read his thread last because other cows can potentially be either upsetting or just boring, so it's nice having a reliable Phil wind down and seeing him display ignorance about netcode or throwing a hissy fit about someone in chat or ranting about some game dev.
