Kathy: Not buying her everything she wants. So here's something I was pondering: what do y'all think it would actually take to sink this marriage? What would make either Kat or Dave say "We're done"?
Phil: Death.

She will want kids within 5 years. Save this post.
That's between her and Gym (Jim), Kohls (Cole), Tae-Bo (Tyrone), etc. Phil won't have a hand (or any other part of his anatomy) in it.
new theory
major medical complication with him or khet, considering he complained about a $500 hospital bill for khet recently, is that a normal bill for america?
That's roughly what a coworker paid for an abortion a few years back. Just throwing that out there.new theory

LOL, yup. Low, if anything.

An ambulance trip and ER visit would cost immeasurably more than just $500. My significant other had to take a little ride in the meat wagon to the ER, and even AFTER her kick-ass gov't insurance paid their portion, hers was still around $1800. Ain't no way in hell they only pay $500 for an amberlamps ride and an ER visit. Especially if you take into account his (allegedly) dogshit insurance and her possibly not having insurance through her employer or being on his (allegedly) dogshit insurance. There's also the distinct possibility that Khet and Phail in their infinite wisdom splurged on an ambulance ride and/or ER visit for something that a competent adult would spend ~$50-100 on at an urgent care clinic.
An idea how ridiculous it can get: I had to get just SIX(6) stitches on my arm and it was $2,000 USD without insurance. Needless to say I didn't go back to get them removed and did it myself.new theory

He recently mentioned that he went to the hospital as Khet had an undisclosed medical issue. Paid $500 for that apparently.
I’m thinking the “very important news” are some health-related issues that his prized horse is currently going through.

Dude, ER visits are ludicrously more expensive than just heading to a quick or urgent care. There's reports of people going to the ER for a bladder infection, where the patient pissed in a cup, and walked away with thousands of dollars in bills. So, even if she went in with so much as a sore big toe, she ain't getting out of there for less than a grand even with a $150 copay. So maybe not an ambulance, but even shitty insurance has around a $150 ER copay and the remaining $350 sounds about what you'd expect for someone who doesn't understand what kind of injury or condition constitutes a trip to the ER.
I would tend to agree with this... My only hangup is how Phil completely overblows EVERYTHING. A $500 medical bill is reasonable, even for Phil. It is almost something he wants to sweep under the rug with a semi-normal amount. If it were him having gone to the hospital, it would be THOUSANDS UPON BILLIONS of dahllars in medical bills, so tip me. But, a measly $500? It's so small, comparable to what he'd normally beg about, that he would rather not have autists dig into it any further than they already do. And yet, here we are, theorizing about shit that nobody can confirm without him slipping up and showing a bill on a counter or someone committing a HIPPA violation.Remember that it's Phil throwing these numbers out so $500 USD is most likely not the real number.
There are also stories of people going to the ER for little ouchies and walking away with hundreds in bills for an evaluation and some Tylenol. You're telling me that doesn't scream DSP playing grownup to you?Dude, ER visits are ludicrously more expensive than just heading to a quick or urgent care. She was recovering from a gallon of mashed potatoes just up and leaping down her throat. Very sad.she was in bed recovering from something & got fat
No. Not in any instance. This is Phil. He's feast or famine all the time. Either something is so miniscule and throw away that it shouldn't matter to aluttapeepol (we went out to eat and it's not like it was expensive.... But in reality, they ate out 3 times that day and that shit adds up.) or it's so embellished that it's obviously bullshit (I had to take the day off because it was SNOWING! But in reality, it looked like a lightly powdered donut and I just wanted to not shtreem and show instasnap pictures from my hermit cave). There are also stories of people going to the ER for little ouchies and walking away with hundreds in bills for an evaluation and some Tylenol. I'm operating under the assumption that the bill is real and the delusion is that going to the ER for something like a sprained finger was the mature adult thing to do. There's nothing he could do dood.No. Not in any instance. This is Phil. He's feast or famine all the time. Phil and "playing grownup" are mutually exclusive.
