I used to like him back in his "Countdown" days (I even have his "Worst Person in the World" book. It's mostly just poking fun at stupid people). After awhile though he started his "Special Comments" bullshit and that's when he started grating on my nerves and I tuned out. I'm not surprised he went off the deep end -- I believe one of his former bosses put it, "he doesn't burn bridges, he napalms them".

When he wasn't being political, his 2013-2015 ESPN show was absolutely fantastic. Best thing on the network by far.

It builds a lot of twitter popularity, which has no real function other than increase your ego I guess. There's an entire subgenre on twitter of people who follow Trump and have notifications on for any time he posts; and when he does, they race over who posts the wokest fastest response. A 20-something guy got to 1 million followers doing this over and over again. He keeps 'blocked by the potus' as a badge of honor in his description

I'm surprised this guy's married and has a job after reading all that tbh...Keith Theodore Olbermann is a political commentator making videos on GQ Magazine and author of TRUMP IS F'ING CRAZY coming October 17th and correspondent with The Resistance. Some can compare his behavior to Hirtes on Chris but in a different case. Olbermann's tantrums are well documented in every salt thread and produces content every day so why not contain all of it here in one thread? Why is Keith Olbermann a Lolcow? A certain degree of righteous anger is rhetorically useful. After damn near 20 years of every single thing, no matter how trivial, being the Hitlerpocalypse, the schtick is getting old. And it's amazing he hasn't literally popped an aneurysm on air.

This is probably his single most negative feature. You can see why he'd get fired from some places, but look at the shit he pulled at MSNBC. This is a network practically custom made for his exact brand of material, and he somehow managed to fuck that up, too.
He doesn't just treat the "enemy" like shit, but his own side, too, and then whoever he turns on is Hitler incarnate just like Trump.
He takes being an insufferable prima donna to such insane extremes that not even ratings would have saved the series of jobs he's burned to the ground in a rage over some petty or outright imaginary slight.

As much as I dislike the guy I watched the 30 for 30 on the T206 Honus Wagner card in which he appeared and he gave great information. I assume they had to cut out 2-3 hours of him smugly ranting like a madman to get the few minutes they actually used.

The extreme left and right both, attract those of less than healthy mental states. The extreme left kicks and screams precisely because they are exceptional. Logic is rarely a motivating factor when one is unable to logic at all. (Cocaine is a helluva drug.) The Democrats' current problem is that their quest for votes has led them to appealing to the most exceptional segment of the population, because postmodernist brainwashing has taught them that the only way to get attention from the average Joe Schmo is to act exceptional. This is because they confused the protests and marches of the Civil Rights Era with acting exceptional, and since things "only" got done after (they imagined) people in the marches were acting exceptional, the only way to get shit done today, is to act exceptionally exceptional, because by this point most people with a life have tuned out in disgust.

While I don't think Trumps' presidency is going to be historically good in and of itself, the legacy of it is going to carry forward in a positive way for a while by utterly destroying 20+ years of frustrating idea-stifling political correctness.
His election was the death knell of PCism, people got sick of it, and this was a wake up call to anyone who could figure it out - "no more PC candidates"
Trump is a vaccination to the body politic.
No one from here forward is going to have to seriously address the petty claims that you're a racist or a sexist for stupid reasons and yet have to give them time less you appear to not care. Now you can just shake your head and say "Really? This again" and the electorate won't care, and those in the media who will still come to call will find only their fellow media members give a damn, the public has had enough, and the administration of Trump will prove it.
And guys like Olbermann, completely unable to process this, will go to the nursing home convinced we're only seconds away from that great fascist takeover, even though it's been 40 years......
