I followed the Sonic Fandom years ago when I still had a deviantart account. Trust me. The autism around this guy is nuclear levels of critical that even other fans of the series got sick of their bullshit cult following him.
Ken is basically the creepy part of Sonic fandom who got a writing job. Every messed-up fetish associated with them has a Penders comic which depicts it.

Whens the last time Penders had a job?
last time was 2006 so over or nearly 20 years give or take few only became infamous in 2013 even more so through 2016 and now with bad takes, shit opinions,“project updates” or art pieces and occasionally comic con posts but thats about it

Kind of disappointed at Pender's lack of production if only because the onslaught of politics is pretty standard for any SJ Twitter, it's all the same schlock not worth reading. At least the art gives me something worth laughing at.

His tweets give me the impression that he's broke.
He got woke went broke and trying to grift. It wouldn’t surprise me how much he sunk his life into the disaster that is Lara us project it’s like if Chris Chan or timbox worked on a project together and it bombed hard
edit says the guy who is only dealings with law was a lawsuit that made an entire fan base hate you 821D70A3-E6ED-4F23-88B0-78FDF1437287.jpeg

That's is a lot of words for Ken to say that he likes to draw underage naked girls.

Also it is lazy, the tired trope of the "naked alien" should be one of those things science fiction writers should just avoid using at this point. It did not make sense for the Martians in H.G. Wells' World of the Worlds over a century ago and it doesn't make sense in any form of modern media now. "Not having the hang-ups and attitudes about nudity and sexuality" doesn't fly in this context, unless we are talking about a stone-age society of primitive forest dwellers, no space faring race is going to forego the development of garments.

Even if nudity isn't an issue, clothes or any sort of body cover would develop for protection, either against enemies or the environment, for decoration or as a way to display rank, social status or wealth. This chick being butt 'nekkid next to one that wears clothes already invalidates the concept. furthermore, why go out of his way to mention that she's 16? but she's adult by her society's standards!! The more you think about it, the less sense it makes, so she's some sort of alien but she's also a Chameleon, Ok fine, then explain breasts ON A REPTILE!!!

(In before someone mentions Lusty Argonian Maids).

No joke when Archie reprinted that series, they actually had to cover up Sally with wisps of steam because the original art was just a few lines and dots shy of being kens personal fap material,

He really is "Chris if Chris actually WAS talented enough to pester Sega into actually working for them."

It was actually funnier than that, the reprint didn't cover her with steam, instead the reprint drew her with her vest on, otherwise it is the same exact panels.

A total LARP, he does the entire performative act of "Look guys, people are totally buying my shit, I'm running to the post office to ship it right now."

Sure thing, Ken.

At least with the war of the world aliens were scary as fuck and brought terror to people London. How is ken not even registered as a sex offender is beyond me. although I got a solution for pedos that siraj hashmi suggested is the woodchiper no if’s ans or buts. Plus good thing for the redraw since the whole thing felt like looking at something that would end up on a watch list somewhere

With how she's drawn with human-like proportions, just having the vest doesn't really help. This whole scene was doomed to be softcore furry porn from the start.

Eh, it's one of the reasons I don't care for Archie. Their characters didn't match the appearances of the real Sonic cast. Made things jarring.

The comics, especially at the start, were written under the pretense that you’ve seen SatAM.

"Endgame" was like the first baby step into the madness. The proportions were off and it got a little too 'soap opera' for my tastes.

Same here but it’s just interesting to read for me

I knew sally didn't wear much clothes originally but Jesus is this fap material. Dillin Thomas mentioning how “Sally wearing Yoga pants” is more sexual is null and void in this case. Shit.

This is what deviation emphasis on the deviation from the original gets you.

Imagine that as a starting point, compared to what Ken eventually graced us with. The mind boggles.

Eh, it's one of the reasons I don't care for Archie. Their characters didn't match the appearances of the real Sonic cast. Made things jarring.

For what I understand and the anecdotes I've heard regarding that time period, the level of collaboration and coordination between Sega and Archie was nearly non-existent. The attitude of Sega when it came to providing source material and reference images to Archie was "you are on your damn own", and by that same token there was no real scrutiny or oversight on the output of Archie.

There was no character bible or set-in-stone character reference art to serve as guide for the artist to follow, hence why the art was so over the place and off model. The chief editors didn't impose any guidelines of their own to keep at the very least some in-house consistency. They could have stuck with the look of the SatAM (which the comic was supposed to be a sort of follow up) but because Sega saw the Archie comic as an advertisement for the latest hot Sonic game and not an independent creative endeavor, the character looks changed to match whatever was new at the time.

It was a clusterfuck no matter how you saw it and thanks to Ken's using Sonic as a vehicle to push his personal views and shitty ideas, things just went from bad to worse.

This is what deviation emphasis on the deviation from the original gets you.

If you really want to point to the real culprit from which this whole mess started look no further that the Sonic The Hedgehog SatAM that instead of being a show about slapstick funny animals it went full edgy 90's "dark dystopian sci-fi Terminator inspired resistance fighter vs tyrant ruled machine empire."

Add furry bait (Sally and Bunnie) and the rest is history.

I guess there could be a happy medium between SatAM and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, but SatAM's premise doesn't get my purist rage flowing so much because it isn't a million miles from what grain of plot there is in the games. OG Eggman is more of a comedy goof and sucks at taking things over, but still.

This bit concerns me a little more, though less in a 'yiff in hell, furfags'* way, but 'how do you extrapolate that from all the Pockies and Rickies in the Sega Genesis game?' Even without Ken it's that much more of a departure.

I blame 90s animators.

* Though let it not be said that furfags should not, indeed, yiff in hell.

He casually hangs out with Sonic on the regular. No different from Bowser.

Sega shat all over everything Sega of America did.

Both the Genesis and the Dreamcast did amazingly in the states, whereas in Japan they didn't do nearly as good, so they pretty much tanked their own consoles just to spite the Americans. Lack of developer tools and support was a constant issue. What was available was expensive, poorly-documented and not always reliable.

It was all meant to appeal to that edgy 90's gaming market. Japan went for a less in-your-face ad campaign.

Just a reminder of how metal Sega once was: Alisia looks like something airbrushed on the side of a van in the 80's. It must be by either Boris Vallejo or his wife Julie Bell; both had a history of doing awesome art for Sega.
