So on one hand, it being NOT a scam and actually shipping out the first issue means I probably missed out on owning this accursed tome unfortunately... HOWEVER! The other edge is the fools that didn't expect the nightmare penders art are now burdened with them until they manage to sell or give them away! They have to live with the knowledge of the fucking scene where an anime style sonic head is pasted over some woman breastfeeding as a panel in this comic.
I know this comment was a few months ago but Knuckles is also a treasure hunter in canon, though it's very very rarely brought up in anything but the manuals. SA2 had a passing statement or 2 about him being "the world's greatest treasure hunter" as an immediate example of it actually showing up in the games.

IT'S TIME
(Apologies in advance for poor photo quality, I was using my phone)
Ok, so now that I’ve finished the book with the help of peach Jinro, I can give my 2 cents. Or maybe in this case $45 because I’ve got some comments and also a headache.
I opted for the autographed copy and resisted the urge to add in the extra $$$ to have it personalized to Joshua Moon.
I also have learned that I'm not the only person who ordered the book and never got a confirmation email.
Ken gives a little bio of himself in the beginning, claiming he first started to draw because he loved drawing trains so much. The joke has written itself. At the end of the bio he says "For me, it took sixty years to get here." Now I feel kind of bad.
The majority of the comic is reprints of Moebius: 25 years Later which is when Lara-Su first appeared, which is helpful for people like me who don’t really know what the hell is going on with these characters. Downside is that I still don’t really know what the hell is going on as there’s clearly backstory I’ve missed. I only know some of these characters from reading this thread, basically.
Twitter has a lot of people asking how legitimate it is for him to be selling these reprints, I just assumed that getting the rights to reprint these is partly why it took him TEN FUCKING YEARS to get this out. Twitter is also calling him a pedo because of the weird breastfeeding panel in the later part of the comic, but I also think Twitter has one braincell that everyone has to take turns using.
All of the reprints have been written by Ken, a handful have also been inked by him as well. There are two chapters where he wrote, pencilled, and inked and it sticks out very noticeably because his art has a trademark wonkyness.
I think all the art in the book is wonky in it's own way, Even the pages with Steven Butler as the penciler have some very wall-eyed characters.
The writing is very meandering, this story starts with concern over dangerous weather patterns signifying the end of the world, but it takes it's sweet ass time getting around to it again. Most of the story is focused on personal drama, teenage drama, what are we having for dinner, who slept with who in the park.
Sonic is a king and has a retarded son, here are his feet:
The fuck is this effect? A recent addition by ken maybe, it matches his Floating Island logo.
Final page features a redrawn last panel. who the fuck is this? You’ll notice Knuckles is now called “The Praetorian”. I wouldn't have known that's who he was talking about had I not read this thread. This is peak Sonichu writing as it requires me, the viewer, to be gangstalking the writer to understand plot points.
After this we have a textwall page explaining the backstory of how this series was re-invisioned as The Lara Su Chronicles.
What follows is actually a small amount of new art compared to the reprints. "The Storm" being 11 pages and "Shattered Tomorrows" being 19 pages. This was ten years in the making,
The best way to describe this part is schizophrenic. Obviously the art is horrible, that’s why I bought this. But it’s not just the style that’s bad, it’s wildly inconsistent. Some images have lineart, some don’t, many have random textures pasted in. I think this is his kitchen wall in the background:
A lot of specific images have been copy-pasted into different panels, every time I look back I’m seeing more and more instances where he’s copied a whole scene outright. This guy is my favorite example, I forgot what specific black man Ken was copying because he “didn’t just want to draw a random black guy” but not only can Ken only draw one black guy, he can only draw that black guy once apparently. This head has been reused multiple times, this is the same face on the same damn spread.
This spread broke my brain when I was first reading through, what is actually happening is there’s been a subtle alteration in the time-space whateverthefuck and these characters have changed visually as a result. Problem is, Ken’s art is really fucking inconsistent as it is. I assumed he forgot how to draw his own damn character within two panels. Skunky dude's face changed too, but I didn't notice that on first read.
As for the writing. I have no idea what happened. I don’t know what’s going on. Who are these people? Where did my booze go? Why do I smell burning toast?

Bonus pages with character bios and Lara-Su’s relation chart which I shit you not takes up half of that first page and a third of the second. Ken, you are not J.R.R Tolkien. I don't care who anyone's third cousin is.

So I may have just chained myself to the scanner for a significant amount of time, I did not scan the reprints of M25YL because I'm assuming as a previously published series it exists online already.
I did scan all of the new pages, minus the acknowledgment page where the names of the people who preordered are listed.
I'm going to get them assembled in a PDF for maximum readability and then share it but I need to lie facedown on the floor first.
