My first exposure to the furry phenomenon was when I was like 6
I think I was vaguely aware of the whole furry thing but I didn’t really connect the dots until I googled something like “Tails Sonic art” and got hit with a JPEG of Tails dreamily inserting his dick into a blue butthole. And mind you, this wasn’t even on DeviantArt, this was just Google Images, raw. There was a time when typing “Sonic tails friendship” could just ruin your day.

My other vivid memory from that era was a picture of Princess Peach about to go down on Bowser and the bellend was drawn to look like a power mushroom. :story:

I remember trying to search for a picture of one of the characters from the Sonic X tv show when I was like 6 with my mom. Needless to say that didn't go well. There was also some sketchy flash games on Newgrounds which were probably mostly made by 14 year olds but were certainly age inappropriate for me.

What in the fuck is happening?

Is Penders even allowed to do this without SEGA's approval?
SEGA will likely just let the retard hobo have his half eaten moldy sandwich like they did with the knuckles recolors. But this is Shadow, the character that has been getting a lot of attention and promotion for a while now. And it's obvious ken is trying to take advantage of something popular thinking he's immune to all possible litigation because Archie and SEGA fucked up originally. I have to imagine SEGA is at least looking at possible options at this point because Ken is really skirting a line with this. He always has been, but those were all within the realm of what the lawsuit allowed him to do. He did not work on 280 pages worth of shadow during his time at Archie, he barley ever used him. And he certainly can't defend the art theft on the cover.

He traced it from the Original box art for the video game, before they redid it to go for a E10 rating instead of a T rating.

SEGA is going to rape him in the ass without lube for this.

Good old Ken up to his old thieving tricks.

This guy's skills have atrophied to such a degree that he has to straight up plagiarize a 20 year old 3D render.

It is one-to-one traced, the background is just copy-paste of the original. This is deviantart circa 2005 tier behavior from a Sonic recolor fan artist, not of a veteran "illustrator". He couldn't even be bothered to adjust the left hand's gesture to compensate for the missing gun into a composition that makes sense.

Also, talk about sloppy:

He left a traced red outline in the cuff of the glove, like he forgot to add a layer there to paint it, it looks like a placeholder. Then there is the haphazardly pasted over billboard in the background that he didn't fade and blend to match the lighter tones of the scene. A total lack of attention to detail, what an absolute hack.

Seeing Ken's boomer aged ass resort to this is just sad.

Or whatever batshit insane madness he got away with when he did "Knuckles, only green."
Green knuckles was a story-arc powerup/cancer form for knuckles and therefore is not owned by penders. the only thing "owned" is the ability to showcase knuckles turning green. He also claims to own scourge when he only partly wrote the stories when he was called evil sonic still and was just sonic but the leader of a biker gang from another timeline.

Yeah, I was thinking "Didn't Ian Flynn do most of the Shadow stories?"
IIRC flynn was also the scourge guy which is why he introduced the female bootleg version of him without the cool and fun dynamic of "sonic gets to fight with himself but like equal footing and not like a robot or another guy who just is the same species as him" and green for no reason instead of the really funny "knuckles dad punched him mid-going super sonic one time so he got stuck green forever"

It was obvious, duh. He did the same inane stuff like "ban all guns" that all modern lefties do, but he was so incompetent his writing was interesting for the wrong reasons.

Penders is apparently even including stuff from the Universe line which Ian wrote. He seems to be trying to be technical by only including the Sonic Adventure 2 parts, but I just went through it again and that's still like half the comic, sometimes with alternating panels on the same page. How would that even look chopped up?

He also removed the writing credits in his version

I know he got lucky with the lawsuit, but this shit looks so legally dubious that I don't understand if Sega doesn't just come down and slap his shit

You should see the rerelease he did of the og run of the sonic comics where he just completely butchered the shading on the original art guy's art. The art's still the same so it's still good but the shading is too much so it becomes too soft compared to the punchy comic book coloration of the original gag era. That's better than this at least because WHY THE FUCK IS HE REMOVING CREDITS FOR THE ARTISTS AND WRITERS
