Do you have any recommendations for dehydrators? I've never used one before.
Literally any will do. Big serious ones will let you dry in bulk and maybe even add smoke, but a $30 plastic kmart job that just uses a fan and heat from the fan motor is more than sufficient.
You can even knock up your own for a couple dollars using a light bulb in the bottom of a cardboard box that works by pulling a convective air flow, which I've used a couple times and it works fine, but something made of plastic that you can wash is a lot easier.

You trim the fat off the bacon, even? I'd imagine you wouldn't have much left… Could you do ham or Canadian bacon?
Right, use canadian or short cut bacon that has minimal fat to start with. You can leave a little on if you like the taste and are eating it immediately but less is better.

Making your own bacon is also an option, you can control how much fat is there in the first place and the taste difference from store bought stuff is incredible, though drying it seems like a waste.
In fact if you're trying keto I highly recommend getting this book and working through it. Curing your own meat is completely worth it and motivational. You'll be eating better shit than you were before the diet.

Keto is a bit of a fad, to be honest. Personally, I find that a good way to stay healthy is to have one whole animal either in a day or a few depending on the size. People tend to think that there's some expense to this, but there really isn't. You just hide in a bush, some rocks, a tree, or maybe some grass, and then you jump out to take a bite. That's how I do it, anyways - I like to take nibbles. Everyone is different. My older cousin will actually wrap around her prey to strangle them, and then she eats them whole. She ate a curvaceous woman, once, and looked like a malformed scaley green pea afterwards. She couldn't move anywhere for a couple weeks after and marathoned Seinfeld on her mother's couch.

Yes, human flesh is keto.

It's true it's a fad, though. Low-carb or "Atkins diets" were all the rage around the mid-'90s. That has no relation with results, though.

I wouldn't say keto qualifies as a fad. That term is better reserved for shit with logic based on nothing/phases of the moon made up to sell books. Atkins probably qualifies but ketosis itself is a basic metabolic state:--you're usually in light ketosis when you wake up in the morning until you've eaten something.
Low carb diets have a longer history than that too; iirc there are ancient records of it being used to treat epilepsy and up until the early twentieth century people were still using it for bipolar (both of which it seems effective for), and then everyone forgot about it for a few decades for some reason.

I would say it's not always a fad, in the same way some people actually can't process gluten. I lost a fuck tonne of weight (around 70 lbs) on keto last year but fell of the wagon at xmas (well when the xmas chocolate arrived in stores at the end of September  ). Been feeling like shit for months and found out from my doctors recently that I have a condition one of the effects of which is to partially mimic diabetes, so I've been Dr ordered back onto keto. Turns out it was probably spending a year on it previously which had been controlling my symptoms.

Ok I will but remember the most important thing above all is counting calories and physical activity

Counting calories I agree with, but physical activity isn't strictly necessary (assuming you just wanna lose weight and dgaf about being healthy). My fat, lazy ass went from 320lbs down to 220 in 9 months while all I did was sit on my ass smoking weed all day while doing keto. The only difficult part of the diet is having to cut out sugar, because 99.5% of cheap, processed American food has fucking corn sugar. You can't even chug Robotussin without having to glug a bunch of that shit down.

I actually started keto again because I don't want to be a fat bitch. So far I feel pretty good, i make sure to eat veggies (especially spinach for magnesium) every single day at least 2-3 times a day. I'm craving chocolate so I might make some keto brownies (you make them with avacado and it makes them super fudgey)
I recall these being very tasty, I think I needed to add more sweetener last I made them. I will report back tomorrow afternoon because I have to go buy some avacados

I think people overthink Keto, it becomes so tiring to keep logging food onto your phone. I suggest you follow OMAD (One Meal A Day) and your diet will naturally balance. This is what I've been doing and its helped me shed 20 pounds in two and a half months. Eat dinner in the evening, generally as late as 9 PM and then for the rest of your day drinking black coffee, tea, and water. As long as that one meal isn't a gigantic feast I guarantee any fatass will lose weight and rapidly.

Make it easy on yourself, eat eggs, bacon, sausage, steak, cheese etc. You can easily remember how many calories are in these. These foods satiate your appetite. On the side eat Spinach, Cauliflower, and Brocoli. You can be starving all day and then when you're looking at an 1100 Calorie Plate(s) of largely Protein and Fat you will see it is hard to want to keep eating beyond that.

Intermittent Fasting is so incredibly powerful, and man sometimes I get a rush of energy off of it and it feels like a legit high. I'm totally convinced that 3 Square Meals a Day is a load of nonsense.

One week back on strictly adhering to low-carb, and I've lost… nothing. that's kind of frustrating.

Yeah, maybe I should try cutting back on meals too to get calorie counts down while I'm at it, though I didn't have to do that last time and I only eat twice most days anyway… I'm hearing people swear by 72-hour fasts and such, but I think that's still a bit too radical for me for now.

I think I'd have to have breakfast be my one meal, though. I can't work when I'm very hungry. It's gonna be a busy weekend, but I can probably start Monday.

So I fully intended to do this this morning when I had a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and steamed veggies, but by late afternoon, I was starving. And still saw no change on the scale. So I just got back from falling off the wagon at a cheap steakhouse where I had biscuits and chili (with beans) alongside my ribs with a sugary sauce. God, it was all so fucking delicious.

I'll try again tomorrow, but if I fail again, hopefully I'll be satisfied by the relative carb safety of my own kitchen.

I hate this diet.

You're absolutely full of shit because the first thing that happens when you do keto is shedding 5-10kg of glycogen/water weight. You're either fucking up or lying.

Been back on Keto since the start of the month and I've dropped 12lbs on the scales but I'm weight lifting and can feel a lot of new muscle so I would guess that my body composition has changed slightly more than the number would indicate. Still pretty pleased with how it's going. I only eat one meal a day (though I sometime have a low carb protein bar around lunchtime).

I basically do this and have never weighed more than 120 pounds...But replace the coffee with black soda.

Keto is a bit of a fad, to be honest.

Its a fad that makes people healthier and encourages discipline so I don't see the problem.

I'm totally convinced that 3 Square Meals a Day is a load of nonsense.

It isn't nonsense. It was established at a time when people ate 90% Carbs and when it was more efficient to prepare one large meal.

Its simply a relic of a bygone era.

If you read the rest of my post, you would understand the context. I assume that you haven't because I honest to God don't know how it could be more clear that I'm shitposting, and I don't want to make the nasty assumption that you're trying to create arguments where there are none to be had.

So please think before you speak, and especially when tagging or quoting other people.

There are lots of studies over the past 150 years supporting keto style diets for health and preventing/relieving type 2 diabetes. Unfortunately, the food industry makes a huge profit selling processed, sugary, cheap food and their influence skews nutritional studies.

you sound fat as fuck

Boiled eggs are one of my favorite keto snacks.

Simple, tasty, and highly nutritious.

how long should i expect it to take to lose the first 5-10kg or so? i've only been doing keto properly for like the past week and i'm already afraid i might be fucking up slightly without being aware of it.
