Pretty easily because academia when in comes to non-STEM tracks embraces ever more "progressive" viewpoints. If you don't want to sleep at night, you can realize that these are the people that populate teacher's college and will indoctrinate your children before they even hit post-secondary schools.

This. I had a friend at university who was doing a masters in Political Science. He basically told me his course was a crock of pseudointellectual shite because the only way to get high marks at anything or to do well at anything was to worship and flatter the people teaching it and never disagree with them whatever, and this went for all sociology / political science / X studies course. Basically, nobody who breaks the circlejerk passes, and original thought is looked at with disdain unless it's expanding on what the Powers That Be have already decided.
