Dramacow Kevin Allred - Professor of Beyoncé Studies (no, seriously), arrested for threats to kill Trump voters.

I'll give him that: if Rutgers ordered the psych eval, it is only fair that they foot the bill. But everything else is Kevvie's own responsibility, this mess being entirely of his own making.

He was taken to the psych exam by NYPD. I'm not even sure an out-of-state university police department is going to 'order' someone detained for a psych exam in NYC. Most likely in my mind is that the university forwarded the information to the NYPD, which then acted and decided what was necessary. If I'm right about that then Rutgers wouldn't be on the hook unless they altered the info or maliciously left something out- they were covering their asses by giving information to the appropriate authorities.

It's not entirely clear he was 'forced' anyway. Here is his account:
It was almost 10 pm and I had to wake up again by 6:30 am to drive back to Rutgers for a morning class. My patience was wearing thin. Can I refuse? I asked point-blank. This is absolutely ridiculous.

“Yes, you can refuse,” the Sergeant replied and quickly followed up with, “but if you do, we’ll have to take you by force. You’re not under arrest now, as long as you go with us willingly. But if you refuse, you could be placed under arrest.”

I could make a good argument that this was not a consensual incident, based on the implication given that 'no' would result in arrest... but if he really wanted to make it clear he was not consenting he could have just said 'no' and called their (possible) bluff. Either way I'm depending on Kevin's account of this and I wouldn't be surprised if it's not true verbatim- and the exact words matter.

But Rutger's is at fault for one thing at least: they issued a weak-ass report that made sure that he would keep pestering them.

Another quote from his account: "I came around to see two imposing NYPD officers (from Brooklyn’s 94th Precinct) in full uniform...their hands weren’t on their guns, but they weren’t far from where their guns sat prominently on their hips either."

How were these patrolmen supposed to stand in such a way that their guns wouldn't be 'not far' from their firearm? With their hands up?

Generally police reports are absolutely privileged, even if they're made maliciously and were false. The only people in a position to file a civil or criminal complaint about false reports would be the cops/DA. The policy reason behind this is they don't want people to be subjected to frivolous lawsuits by the criminals they report.

(I'm not sure specifically about NY/NJ on this, it might be a qualified rather than an absolute privilege, but you're almost always safe from a civil lawsuit over allegedly defamatory police reports.)

He said he was going to run people down with his car. It is no longer merely a "safe space" issue, but something that can be creditably construed as a threat.
Right, but the Rutgers investigation was originally about (supposed) flag-burning in class, wasn't it? If I'm understanding right, there were actually two investigations going on, one from the NYPD for the actual terroristic threats he made on Twitter, and another from Rutgers because someone complained about his classroom behavior.

Actually acting so insane that he got an involuntary psych evaluation pretty much trumped the earlier bullshit. But yes, this lunatic was being a problem before that.

The idea that Rutgers would even consider paying his medical bills is asinine. After his shooting spree tweet, that college should have thrown him out and told him to never come back.

Oh shit he said something along those lines? Here I am, believing that his lunacy is limited to a hatred of Trump, Trump supporters, and Rutgers.

I think it's more a symptom of having a gender-studies department. Even the most prestigious schools are home to this kind of lunacy. Harvard's even got its own up-market version of "Beyonce Studies" where a gay white man teaches about black women singers:

In a way it's a good thing really. Keeps all the pseuds and identity politics spergs in one place so they aren't shitting up actually worthwhile academia with their nonsense.

Imagine if they were let loose elsewhere.

Heh heh, "trumped."

He said he will make Rutgers cough up the dosh and return it to his "supporters" :optimistic::optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:

This shameless, worthless fuck is e-begging -- and looks at though he will succeed.

There are also a bunch of shit on his tweet about a certain Beyond-shite album "smashing the binary". I don't have the spoons to cap them.

I think it's unlikely that Rutgers would "persecute" a queer woman of colour because the reeeeeeing would be far louder and longer and more damaging to them from a PR perspective than if they got rid of a FUCKING WHITE MALE like Kev.
