I hate to defend Kevin here but I think he is referring to the extremely online tradwife crowd, who by and large have not been pressured into those roles since childhood and are usually rebelling against secular middle class backgrounds. Most are not actually married yet either, they just constantly post memes about traditional marriage and children online like it is a lifestyle brand.

It's kind of the flipside of something like Kevin's fetishization; in both cases it's based on people having no good grasp of life or human experiences outside of the internet and treating societal roles like they are nothing more than an aesthetic.

Edit: online tradwife-ism is also about a more powerful group (young educated middle class white women) LARPing as a less powerful group (women who have been raised from birth in fundamentalist religions to be baby-making doormats). What the troons and tradwives fail to see is that you can't build a life based on rustling people's jimmies, eventually you need goals and values of your own. If no one's there to be shocked by their clothing and social media posts, what do they have? When you're 35 you can't really define yourself based on shocking your mom.

Edit: I think this is the same logic behind a lot of teenage Trump supporters. Wearing the funny red hat and screaming "MAGA!" gets them a reaction. There's no deeper political thought going on.
