They don't need to worry about rejection, Alloderm is made from corpse dermis, but all the cells are removed so there's no host immune response. It is a skin matrix that makes it easier for your body's own skin to grow back. It helps wounds to heal quicker and better.

They are using Alloderm because amholes made using the penile inversion technique are lined with ordinary penis skin. The best chance for it to heal well is to encourage Kev's own dick skin to heal itself in there.

The biggest risk will be infection, I don't know how they intend to try sterilising the surgery site. Also, ordinary skin is not supposed to be wet, but it never dries out properly inside a troon rot pocket.

Yeah, I’d never heard of this stuff before but it looks like it is primarily used in dental work (people with bad gums who need implants I guess?) and for breast reconstruction surgery for women who had full-on mastectomies for breast cancer who then wanted implants, but didn’t have natural tissue to build off of. The Alloderm acts as a filler/shaping agent for the implant.

I assume that’s what they'll use it for here? I’ve been gone for months and months and try not to spend too much time in the SRS thread because it’s horrifying, but if I understand correctly, Kevin didn’t do proper aftercare of his surgical site, didn’t dilate, and now it’s closed up, probably with scar tissue that can’t be salvaged. So now they have to cut a hole under his ass, but the peritoneum is thin and probably needs extra tissue so that it doesn’t rip and expose his colon? Am I getting that?

It's good for the lining skin to heal, a raw surface isn't good. It's the muscle cavity bored into the pelvic floor that they don't want to close up, not the skin lining the amhole.

Yes, apparently the patient's own infected material can get trapped behind an Alloderm graft. This is the biggest risk for Kevvie.
