Yeah, this is mostly what I see happening on and offline. The advice and compliments are often carefully restricted to things which are quick and easy to change - hair, nails, lip product colour. Or the all time favourite “give the ugly girl a compliment” standby: “you have such pretty eyes!/amazing lashes!”

Years back women would give most honest advice in that they would specifically give passing advice. Stuff like “good makeup! But for work, try something more muted” or “The skirt is cute but you might feel more comfortable in something that hits below the knee” “Try that dress with a high neck cardigan for work”. Advice that would often specifically refer to female norms for how a woman of X age would dress in Y situation. (Protip: this is drastically more conservative than most trannies grasp at first)

Generally there was a huge pushback when that sort of advice was given, as it was mostly being asked for by AGPs who didn’t want genuine advice on how to pass; they wanted deranged validation that they were somehow attractive. So I very rarely see that advice given any more. Now it’s just asspats or “great manicure!”

Usually troons misread people's intentions and social cues all the time (I think partly due to the autism or social ineptness).
