KF Guide to Woke Games

So it turns out that the error I was having for nearly two years was the result of having too many img tags, rather than the screenshots themselves being the problem.

Since the issue is finally fixed, the updated list is in the OP. I'll change and update some parts about it later when I'm feeling up for it.

Game: Wicked Seed
Rating: None
Description: It's a mixture of real time and turn based combat.
The story is decent. It seems generic at first, but I didn't expect the twist to be his hard.
The YouTuber LobosJr voices a few characters in the game. I don't know anything about him. The VA of the main character is a proper VA.

I am playing a New Game+ file, so I have most of the equipment maxed out, and this is the starting area, so most enemies are still easy to deal with (plus I know their weakness).

They're totally fine touching on subjects like death and war in that series, but they still brought in their crack censorship localization squad for Engage.

And this is after Three Houses, which wasn't censored much at all, easily outsold every single other title in the franchise.

I commented on this image before. I think it looks more sexist to imply that being able to fold laundry like a 50s housewife and looking perfect 24/7 are what men really want. The tomboy vs. girly girl trope has been around forever. It just seems weird to switch it out for this poorly written slop that's somehow supposed to be less offensive when it's just stereotypical slop.

Don't know the full context for this as I only have the image to go off of, but I've seen similar edits happen in other games and I can only assume it's due to where the focus of the dialogue is or how its being framed.

In the more accurately translated material, she's talking about why she's desirable to men. While the normal translation shifts the focus away from mentioning men or being desirable to instead focus on traits that can be appreciated in other contexts as well.

It's an example of writers desperately trying to grasp onto anything they can to separate a character from subject matter they or someone higher up than them most likely despise.

Update on Minecraft for those unaware:

For Black History Month, Mojang released a free DLC called Lessons in Good Trouble, or just Good Trouble. Like the title says, it encourages players to cause "good trouble."

And it's apparently not even that good in regards to educating people about the Civil Rights movement and whatnot.

Don't want to derail the thread, but it would help if you also mentioned the game is a love letter to the first Parasite Eve. It may look like an asset flip, but a lot of effort was put into it by the sole (?) dev.

It's a very good game, no woke shit in sight, the outfits for the protagonist are the kind that would scandalize feminists, and the game isn't shy about using "strategic" camera angles when she is crawling under obstacles.

Just to correct the record, though this is a common mistake ,"Good Trouble" has been released for a few years, it just wasn't widely known about until Minecraft's tweet this year. According to a Minecraft Wiki it released on November 6th, 2020.

I actually saw people say this isn't political. Yes, so all media is political...except this, apparently.

You should have known from a title called “Lessons in Good Trouble,” that the point isn’t to show you how the 60s Civil Rights movement led to the Civil Rights Act, but to train unsuspecting teens on progressive activism so they too can go die in the streets like Renee Good (get it?) for Somalis that don’t give a fuck about you.

And I was seriously considering giving Minecraft another shot, too; welp, at least I can save my money.

Bit of a shame, really; had a lot of fun on the game back in the day, made some huge builds in Creative, damn near got the Platinum on the console version. Ah, well.

This isn't meant for learning purposes you isto/phobe Chuddenheimers.

It's ackshually meant for learing purposes. The non-racist way of education.

MENACE : mild
Generally unwoke, but female soldiers stop me rating this 'none'. None of them break suspension of belief.
It also awesomely has the most unapologetically Black mofo possible. It's still early access, but for now, it is great.

GAME: Nioh 3
Rating: Mild

Reason: Character creator uses body-types instead of sex, this change is present in both the English and Japanese release. As far as I can see the game has no other issues. Edit: I should mention, body-types were was also present in the demo that came out last year. Meaning this change was made early in development rather than it being shoehorned in last minute.

タイプ1 = Type 1

How is body types, aka the rejection of biological reality, only a Mild?
I chose mild because it only effects the creator in the context of the released game. Any wokeness is bad sign, if the devs were willing to believe something as dumb as sex denial. It's pretty clear other stuff that offended the progs was cut during development. Any game with wokeness can be assumed to have been self-censored at some point during development. If I were to rate games off what might have been cut out during the dev time, then it would bump up every game to heavy. That's a very impractical way to judge a game. Instead, I just keep it to how much wokeness is present in the final/most up-to-date release.

Because it's the cheapest, lowest-effort sop to the "modern audience" that devs can make. There's zero ideological commitment behind including it, just some hazy notion that changing the text on character creation will increase profits.
