He said he got wood from the guy who send him the lathe. Once he’s done with gifted wood, he will go back to sticks. He will most likely will stop using the lathe once he go back to using sticks.

That’s kinda how Josh works. He’ll follow the rules and be safe about it for right now. Josh is naive but he’s not stupid enough to welcome a de-gloving operating machinery.
Eventually he’s going to be lulled into a false sense of security and he’s going to do what he always does with rules; As long as there isn’t a consequence, he’ll continue to push the boundaries. “It’ll be fine if I have one beer and use it” or “I just have one ring on, it’ll be good, dood.” It’ll be something like that. It might be born entirely from laziness, it might be born from his pathological need to do everything his own special way.
Unlike the other times where he’s done this, like with smoking in his apartment (Not smoking, smoking with the window open, cutting back and then just full on smoking in the apartment again) there’s going to a really serious injury involved and it’s not gunna be too funny.

This dude is a piece of work. I could write paragraphs about why he isn't getting anywhere with his art or his special effects career, but that really seems to be the least of his problems right now. Courtney clearly maxed out at a high school level of thinking but this guy is just something else entirely.
I also make my living as a creative professional and I can relate to what he's saying, but the guy has to let a little of it go or he's going to have a stroke in 10 years.
